How is it weak to charge an iPhone when it claims to output 140W for a single device? Is it not negotiating power capability correctly with the iPhone?

First off, the iPhone 18 Pros don't actually charge at 65W. They briefly peak at around 53W, then drop to somewhere around 26–40W depending on the battery level. I just plugged in my iPhone Duo at 64%, and the charger is showing 40W output.

That 6W reading is pretty interesting, though. There could be a bunch of reasons for it, like your iPhone throttling the charging speed due to heat or some other internal issue, a bad cable, USB-PD negotiation problems, etc. Have you tried charging other devices with it? Do they charge normally?

If the issue keeps happening, I'd contact the seller or Lenovo about a warranty replacement. That's definitely not normal.

Edit: I am using this same charger.

140W only happens on USB-C1 with a PD 3.1 EPR cable; a normal cable or another port negotiates far lower.

Newer iPhone maximizes charge speed with AVS, which is on PD 3.2 and above. This is 3.1.

AVS is effectively the successor to PPS, and allows voltage changing beyond the standard voltages.

Nice thing about AVS is unlike PPS, it is mandatory for USB-C PD 3.2. So if it says 3.2, you know it has AVS.

Is this made my Lenovo or just sold by them? I don't like to trust questionable battery packs.

I mean this IS a good price if this is as good as the Anker ones. I think the similar product from Anker is going for around $129...

I bought this a few months ago for a 2 week international trip and it was awesome. We used it to charge a couple iPhones and a MacBook Pro and had no issues with it.

Don't buy it. I have a gigabyte laptop and Lenovo it will charge neither of those. Evidently the power signal is poor quality (and yes the cables are fine)

TALIX is actually owned by Lenovo. They do outsource the manufacturing of their power banks, but that's pretty common in the industry. Even Anker does the same.

As for quality, I think they're pretty decent. ChargerLAB did a teardown and found some good quality components inside. They also have CCC certification, which is required if you want to bring power banks on domestic flights in China.

14.8 oz is a bit heavy for a pocket but fine in a backpack for that capacity.
