Not sure if it's a regional difference and you're not in the US. But it's actually $2299 on the Apple Store when I configure it for 32GB/1TB/M6.

So $300 more for a 10-40% performance increase depending on the workload is probably a better $ value.

Nope. Base 16GB model starts at $1999. Additional $400 for 32GB, comes out to be $2399.

MacBook Pro without a Pro processor is not worth it to me. MacBook Air is lighter and prettier and M5 processor DOES NOT need a fan.

Air doesn't have the ports or mini LED screen.

Does anyone know how these newer M5 and M6 standard CPUs compare to an M4 Max? The local pawn shop has a 16" MacBook Pro with M4Max/48gb/1tb setup for $1700 on sale. I mainly do basic photo and video editing

Don't know what makes me special but I keep getting $2299 when configuring 32GB/1TB: https://imgur.com/a/cN2E1JN

That shows up at $2999 for me on BH. Where is it only $500 more?

Let's not forget that the new pro has a nicer screen, gets rid of the stupid notch (dumbest thing Apple has done to a laptop in a long time, including the Touch Bar), AND it's quite a bit lighter than the outgoing model.

Saving half a pound is worth the premium alone, IMO

I mean, you're probably not going to beat that deal. That's a lot of RAM and it's a 16" model. You'd have to get a 14" model to get anywhere close to that pricing, and it's still not going to have anywhere near the RAM.

That's a terrible deal don't buy it. By the way, which pawn shop? /s

I'd totally get that M4 max at that price. I'd love to find a deal like that right now.
