This refurbished Dell OptiPlex 7090 UFF is a compact workhorse with unusually strong specs for the price, especially 32GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD. The UFF design is meant to mount on the back of Dell monitors, and the multiple USB ports and power delivery support make it flexible for a tidy desk or homelab setup. The i5 1145G7 is a laptop class chip, so performance is modest and the CPU is soldered, which limits upgrades. Refurbished SSD and RAM quality also draw concern, and the unit may not include a power adapter. A solid fit if the form factor matches your setup.
Common Questions (5)
The refurb quality is a concern because the SSD and other parts may be replaced with lower-quality components, and some refurbished units have been reported defective or DOA. A safer expectation is to buy only if the return policy is easy and you are comfortable with refurb risk.
No, the i5-1145G7 is soldered to the mainboard, so the CPU is not upgradeable. The practical limit is to work with the existing laptop-class processor and focus on RAM/storage instead.
Yes, the 32GB configuration is a strong value because many similarly priced sellers only offer 16GB, and comparable mini PCs in this range are often barebones. The tradeoff is that the CPU is only a laptop-class i5, so it is not a performance monster.
No power adapter is included; the UFF was originally meant to be powered through a compatible Dell monitor, so the adapter was sold separately on new units. It can also be powered by USB-C power delivery.
Yes, the UFF was designed to mount on the back of Dell monitors for an all-in-one setup. For a TV, a special offset VESA mount part 0W8VV is mentioned for this model.

it's ddr4 sodimm. It's not that valuable, and you're not going to overclock it or anything.
and doing all that for a 256gb ssd? seriously?

I've gotten "refub" items that would not even POWER ON! Some wouldn't function. This isn't even trying to see if the item failed 5 or 10 min into use. It was super evident they just took defective returned items and resold them.
So just out of curiosity I looked at Discount Computer Depot who "refubishes" Dell items for Walmart. Plenty of one star reviews getting a defective item but what value are my life experiences 🤔
