The Moto G Stylus 5G 2024 stands out as a feature packed midrange phone with an OLED screen, 8GB of RAM, microSD expansion, a headphone jack, FM radio, and solid everyday speed. The camera is described as decent in daylight but weaker at night, and the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 is called out for running hot and downclocking. Support is limited to one major Android upgrade and three years of security updates, with final security patches expected around May 2027. Open box condition can be excellent, but the listing price needs a click through to see the lower total.

  • The phone includes a headphone jack, microSD support, and a built-in FM radio for flexible audio options.

  • The Moto G Stylus 5G (2024) is supported for one major Android OS upgrade and three years of security updates.

  • Open-box units can arrive in pristine condition, which improves the value of buying this way.

  • Real-world use reports show the device stays speedy with high storage usage and avoids dropped calls.

  • Some listings marketed as unlocked have arrived network-locked, so immediate network-lock testing is important.

  • The Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 in this model can run too hot and downclock, which may hurt performance.

  • Some units labeled unlocked have failed Verizon IMEI compatibility checks and required activation on another carrier.

  • The camera performance is described as only so-so, with daylight doing better than night.

Damn where was the post for that one?!
I posted in another thread that Vipoutlet Ebay store had the same phone for $99. Posters said Vipoutlet had a poor reputation. I purchased from both sites. Ebay purchase was problematic, but via Walmart.. Good deal. Keep checking both sites. Complainers are the reason that posters are shy about posting deals.

As a warning to those looking into it, I bought this a few weeks ago from VIP Outlet and received a UScellular locked version that also had 128GB of storage when the device I ordered was supposed to be 256GB. Following some guides online I got abd access on an internet-less factory reset and ran a bunch of commands to neuter the usCellular lock, and with that it was able to unlock, but upon usCellular unlock I lost adb and developer access. I could never fully unlock the phone and returned it. Too big a headache. For the price, solid specs and feel though.
You couldn't just exchange it instead of doing all of that?

bought 2 open-box recently, one 68 and one 76. The 76 arrived in pristine condition. Still waiting for the other.

I am a big fan of Moto phone, not so much on Pixel.

2 or 3 years. The phone will hit it's end of life in about 3 years. Versus $900 phone that lasts few more years. Use it for a few years and get another. Nbd. More value than expensive new phone with longer updates
People buy this because it's easy to unlock/root, so don't care about official support.

I still use my 2021 moto stylus g stuck on android 11.I have the 2025 moto stylus g, and they crippled the FM, even though it has the hardward for it.
This is a good deal but it will only update to 15.
My 2025 will update to 17

If this is a 2024 Motorola phone, keep in mind that end of life software and security support is May 2027 for this phone.
Still using the 2023 as my daily. 2025 for backup/secondary.

cheaper and newer models can be had.

Avoid this one, it has the snapdragon 6 gen 1 CPU, notorious for running too hot and downclocking as a result.
No issue with my 2023, with the same processor. Using it daily for 2 years plus now.

I agree with your comment. I bought two unlocked phones from VipOutlet on Ebay and it was locked. I went to phone information and it said network lock. Therefore, people should always test the phone the moment they receive it.
VIPOutlet notorious for incorrect descr. 50-50 jump ball, lots of complaints in previous threads here. Reliability is not their hallmark.

I have used this phone for over a year. I like it. The old fashioned headphone jack and FM Radio are a bonus too.

Yeah, disappointed that the 2025 doesn't have FM. Only one of the reasons I prefer Motos over Samsung. Are you sure Gen 3 is h/w capable? I thought I read that the Gen 3 processor doesn't have embedded FM, maybe just AI slop. Or a difference in chipset between Gen 1 and Gen 3? Haven't found anything that specifically spells it out anywhere.

Is this factory unlocked so I can unlock bootloader? or network unlock?
