The 2024 Moto G Stylus 5G stands out as a budget unlocked phone with solid specs, a stylus, a headphone jack, and FM radio. The price drops to $132.61 after opening seller options, and the phone has been used happily for over a year. The main tradeoffs are short software support, with one major Android upgrade and security updates ending around May 2027, plus reports of the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 running hot. Compatibility and seller issues also surfaced, including a locked or wrong storage unit and Verizon activation problems, so it is a value pick with some caution.
The Moto G Stylus 5G (2024) is officially supported for one major Android OS upgrade and three years of security updates.
The end-of-life security support is expected around May 2027 for this 2024 Motorola model.
The phone includes a headphone jack and FM radio, which can add everyday audio flexibility.
A purchase via Walmart from Vipoutlet reportedly arrived in pristine condition.
The $132.61 price reportedly appears only after clicking "see more seller options," not the $133 shown below the item.
The Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 in this model reportedly runs too hot and downclocks, which can hurt performance.
Unlocked listings may still fail Verizon IMEI compatibility checks, even when the phone appears to work with a Verizon SIM.
A Vipoutlet purchase reportedly delivered a UScellular-locked 128GB unit instead of an unlocked 256GB model, and unlocking attempts caused loss of ADB/developer access.
