I don't 100% remember the fix, but it was something like this. See if they have an app and install it.
Go to the home screen, instead of Android Auto, hit the home button on the unit, then pick something different, like Screen Mirroring. If you didn't find the app earlier, it will show a QR code to download their app. Then in the app menus it will then prompt you to apply an update. Once I updated, the unit has been solid.
These are similar fixes.

This is a portable CarPlay and Android Auto screen that works well for older cars, with quick phone pairing, solid Bluetooth, and flexible audio options through AUX, FM transmission, or a tape adapter. The backup camera is useful for reversing, and the unit can be mounted with suction cup or adhesive hardware, with some setups needing extra care for heat and stability. The main drawbacks are recurring disconnects or restarts on some units, occasional lag, glare, and a camera image that can look blurry or stretched. It is a handy upgrade if you want modern infotainment without replacing the whole stereo.
Common Questions (4)
It can connect quickly, often in under a minute, and auto-connects within a few seconds on ignition in some setups. Reported caveats include random disconnects, restarts, and Android Auto dropouts on some units, which may be improved by a firmware/app patch or a Google Android Auto workaround.
The screen can be mounted with a suction cup or 3M adhesive/tape on the dash or windshield, and some setups use a separate CD-slot or tape-deck style mount. Stability depends on the mount and heat: some users report a firm hold, while others say the adhesive or suction cup can fail in summer or on rough roads.
The camera feed appears instantly when shifting into reverse, but the image is often described as blurry, stretched, and not true widescreen. It can also be weak in bright sun, and some users improve the view by using a better license-plate bracket or careful camera placement.
It supports AUX in/out, Bluetooth, and FM transmission, so audio can go through the car stereo in several ways. For older cars, it can also work with a tape adapter, and some users route sound through an existing Bluetooth AUX module if the direct audio path is noisy.

I know I could by a different adapter, just curious if the one I have will work with this screen.
Also, will it work with this mount [amazon.com]? Or is there a way to put on this adapter [amazon.com] to make it work with the mount? I can't see this by the photos of the back.
Updated: Just saw a review that says it should work, would still welcome your input! Review said "Comes with a couple different mounts but it's also compatible with old GPS ball mounts so you can use an old GPS mounting kit if you want to."
