I had the restarting issue and was able to fix it. If I remember correctly, it was a USB voltage issue. The tolerance on voltage fluctuations was too tight. A new firmware loosens it up and it can handle some swings. I believe most of these screens are based on the same hardware, so it affects a bunch of them.

I don't 100% remember the fix, but it was something like this. See if they have an app and install it.

Go to the home screen, instead of Android Auto, hit the home button on the unit, then pick something different, like Screen Mirroring. If you didn't find the app earlier, it will show a QR code to download their app. Then in the app menus it will then prompt you to apply an update. Once I updated, the unit has been solid.

I imagine this would be cool to add to my 2012 GTI, but mostly to plug in my ROG Ally 7 and do a little gaming on my downtime at work. 😉

The sticky pad hasn't worked well for me, especially in the summer, and it doesn't hold the screen securely. I replaced it with 3 mm adhesive strips, but had the same results. The suction cup holder has also fallen off several times.

How to make phone call via this device? I'm using android auto, paired this one with my pixel phone, use aux cable from this device to my car's audio input. Everything works fine, but I can't take or make calls, without switch my car's channel from AUX to BT, since my phone still have a connection with the car via BT. Do I need to disable that BT connection between phone and car and then a new connection between phone and this device?
