It's a great display even with all the smart features cut off.
All the tv's do it now. It's just that it's more known since Steve of GamersNexus did their exposé video. But even he has said all the other brands are doing it too and supposedly, they were working on highlighting some other brands doing the same thing. And as noted in another post, your cell phone is probably a far worse violator of privacy issues than your TV ever will be.
Community Reviews
LG's 55 inch C6 OLED stands out for deep blacks, rich color, and a bright picture, and it can work well even with the smart features turned off if paired with a separate streaming device. Pricing also looks strong, with the same set listed at Costco and BJ's for $999.99, and some qualified buyers can get it for $900 through Home Depot via AAFES with zero tax and free shipping. Burn in and app stability remain the main concerns, especially with reports of YouTube crashes.

Ive seen reviews and whatnots but i was looking for real life advice from someone who's owned it for a while.
My usage will be YouTube and just streaming mostly.

A TV can watch shows for you, so you can free yourself to do other stuff?

Only way to be sure is to open it up and remove any microphone, cam, and wifi chip, lol.
