This Costco MacBook Pro deal pairs the 14.2 inch M5 model with 16GB memory and 1TB storage at $1,349.99, with free shipping, a two per member limit, and Costco's 90 day computer return window plus a second year of warranty. The price undercuts Apple's $1,999 tag and sits below the newly launched M6 version, making it especially attractive for buyers who want Pro ports and the better screen. The main hesitation is 16GB RAM, which feels tight for heavy multitasking, Teams, local AI, or development work. It is a strong value for everyday use and storage hungry buyers.

Common Questions (5)

  • For office work, web browsing, light Python, and light photo or 1080p video editing, 16GB is enough and can last several years. It can feel tight with heavy multitasking, many browser tabs, Teams, or dev workflows like Xcode, Android Studio, simulators, and local AI, where 24GB or more is preferable.

  • If you want the lowest possible price, waiting may pay off because some shoppers expect further clearance or a better Black Friday deal. Buying now still has a safety net because Costco's return window lets you return it if a better deal appears.

  • Yes. It comes with Costco's 90-day return window on computers and a second year of warranty, which lowers the risk if a better deal appears later or inventory disappears.

  • Yes. The order can be cancelled shortly after placement, and the checkout screen can freeze or fail in multiple browsers. If that happens, trying again later or using another retailer or price match may be necessary.

  • Yes. The same price works in the warehouse too: check stock in the Costco app, get a ticket at the Apple booth, pay at the register, and pick it up at Merchandise Pickup. Online ordering also includes free shipping.

24GB of ram with this is an actual upgrade over the M1. If you want to upgrade, that's a legit deal and enough RAM for almost everyone.
16GB has been plenty for me but I mostly do office work, web browsing, a couple of light Python projects, photo editing, and light video editing (nothing over 1080p). I don't use local AI and I disable it on any apps that do, including Siri on macOS.

Obviously if you have been feeling constrained by RAM you should consider the 24GB Air (and the tradeoffs betweeen the Air and the Pro hardware), and personally I would have liked to order the Pro with a 24GB upgrade for longevity, but I think this will hold me off until hardware prices stabilize.

Hodl? I don't think hardware prices are going to drop and probably not stabilize where they are either. They're just not making consumer RAM much anymore. All consumer products have pricing pressure upwards. We just get to see the deals here but other than deals, hardware prices are rather insane.

In for 2, thanks OP. This a great deal plus Costco's generous return window in case a better deal pops up during BF.

Price matched with best buy online. They were only able to do it to $1379 but I was told they should be able to refund me the difference

Order placement screen freezes and doesn't go through. Tried multiple browsers with no luck. Anyone else facing this issue?

100% agree, preference would be to have at least 24gb but the long return window is great in case a better BF deal pops up.

I had the same, but ultimately was able to place the order with the ship to and pickup from store option. I also changed the credit card I was using, but my money is on the pickup option.

Finally, I was able to place order with ship to home after multiple tries. Though, was getting the warning in my earlier message repeatedly before placing the order successfully. Hopefully Costco doesn't cancel my order 🙂.

Was tempted to buy this but both regular M5 (not pro) and only 16GB when RAM is becoming more critical. Going to wait for BF and hope for 24GB or 32GB even if it's an Air chassis.
