This 14 inch MacBook Pro pairs the M5 chip, 16GB of memory, and 1TB of storage with a steep Costco price cut, free shipping, and Costco return and warranty coverage. The deal stands out against Apple pricing and the newer M6 model, and the Pro still brings the better screen, ports, and active cooling that help with heavier work. The main concern is 16GB RAM, which can feel tight for lots of browser tabs, Office and Teams, or demanding development and AI tasks. It looks like a strong value if your workload fits the memory ceiling.
The 1TB SSD configuration supports heavier storage needs alongside the 16GB RAM.
16GB RAM can be sufficient for office work, web browsing, and light Python or under-1080p editing workloads.
Costco pricing undercuts Apple's direct pricing while keeping free shipping on costco.com.
The deal includes Costco's 90-day return window on computers and an extra year of warranty.
16GB RAM can feel limiting when running the Office suite, especially Microsoft Teams.
16GB RAM can trigger disk swapping during multitasking with many browser tabs and common apps.
Local LLM use may require far more than 16GB RAM for practical performance.
Some MacBook Pro configurations can experience intermittent freezing, which can affect day-to-day reliability.

Obviously if you have been feeling constrained by RAM you should consider the 24GB Air (and the tradeoffs betweeen the Air and the Pro hardware), and personally I would have liked to order the Pro with a 24GB upgrade for longevity, but I think this will hold me off until hardware prices stabilize.
