I've been wearing these for long walks (no running) for months now. They have great cushioning and are very comfortable in general. However, like a lot of max-cushion shoes, I can feel somewhat "tippy"/unstable in them. Also, I've read a lot of complaints about them being hot and lacking breathability. I live in a hot climate and can't say that my feet have felt particularly hot/sweaty in them, but I've experienced some skin irritation on my feet since I started wearing them. I suppose this could be a coincidence and unrelated to the shoes, but I suspect that it is related to the shoes' breathability.

My wife and I have worn these on a trip to Japan during the hot/humid Japan summer and had no problems with it being hot. Or, maybe because we wore thinner runner socks. Either way, these are excellent shoes for long walking days because they have great cushioning but also an energy return foam so that you aren't sinking into soft soles on each step.

But, as you mention, these are your standard running shoes, and that means they don't have good lateral (side-to-side) stability. If you want a stability shoe you need to specifically seek out running shoes labeled stability. But, they won't have as great of a cushioned sole as these, though. (Can't beat physics).

Understood. I've tried stability-focused running shoes in the past, but did not like the reduced cushioning that is typically associated with their design.

Not available in my size. Darn. Anyone have a good comparison with the vomero 18 vs vomero plus?

I have both, and the Plus is super soft and so comfortable, in my opinion. Great for everyday or recovery runs. Liked them so much that when I found a deal, I bought another pair. Big fan of the Plus, but I like the 18s too, just not as much cushion.

Never are...sucks. They seem to be anti-wide-foot-gang.

I have a pair of 16s that I wore in China, Germany and Japan! They have been solid! I wore them to Japan in the winter and didn't find them to be cold. Just ordered a pair of these 18s - we will be going to S Korea and Japan in December. I am a bit apprehensive about the cold in S Korea though

Vomero Plus is a better shoe if you need a slightly wider shoe than regular sized Vomero 18. Not quite as wide as a wide Vomero 18 in the mid foot, though. But, the toe box is wide in the Plus as a wide Vomero 18.

Also, Vomero Plus uses more ZoomX foam in the sole, so it has more of a softer cushioning. This reduces lateral (side-to-side) stability just a little.

With this said, the Vomero Plus definitely looks more chunky on the feet.

Understand the tippy part. But went to new York over the summer for 4 days and walked around 25 miles and my ankles didnt hurt and didnt really have much of a temp problem. Sorry you did.
