Washington Wizards won on 11/2. This is probably the final week to get the monopoly game pieces and Big Mac has one. I've been getting 100% hit on chance cards.

One specific McDonalds location near me, does this on Mondays only, but they discount it to $2.99 / $3. Does the company lose money? or make money? hope people end up buying other items, overall making money? or what?
I think this deal would have been advertised better if there was an original price and then a strikethrough and showing the sale price as $2.50. I tend to forget to do that when I post deals.
Bad thing is, after you post a deal, it messes up when you want to post it like that (it will leave off something).
I would wonder what a Big Mac would be in Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia.

Original price for which restaurant? Every McDonald's charges differently for every item. For example, Apple slices in DC area ranges from 50 cents per pack to $1.79. The most expensive Big Mac I found in DMV was $6.99. Some charge $6.29.

The deal is for Tuesday Nov 3 in DMV area. They make money. Big Mac doesn't cost $2.50 to make even with the paper box factored in. Most likely they will make a lot of money because you'll probably order a drink. They will lose money if the Monopoly game piece gives you a chance card. The key is to enter the chance card after 3AM before breakfast. I'm not kidding when I say I got 15 out of 15 reward on chance card (though many were useless free 2 month subscription to Peacock). You're competing with all other diners who enter the code, so avoid busy hour if you want to win free food.
Big Mac is $7.89 at McDonald's in 75 New York Ave NE, DC 20002, $6.29 at 2228 New York Ave NE. This is a 25% price difference for restaurants that are within a walking distance.

I do not think Mcdonald's even loses money on Monopoly. They allocate a budget for all the prizes, of which, not many people won this time. If they lost any money, it definitely would have been last year from the digital alternative methods of entering.
Notice how all the free food items this time were small sizes.
But yeah, I did the mostly early hours thing, not at a specific hour. I wake up early and so I played one chance or game piece a day anytime I had awakened. I ended up beating monopoly. I was able to receive more in value than I had spent.

I have four McDonald's accounts. Here is the screenshot of what I still have. I did win some bigger items, such as McGriddle and McCrispy. I redeemed a few of those and got more game pieces in return. Even small fries aren't bad because I don't need to buy any fries today when I get my Big Macs. I only know about the trick after someone post it online. I'm still unclear how I earned some chance cards within the app. Sometimes they show up for no reason. One of my accounts had 3 chance cards in the app. Someone said if you enter a code for a property you don't own, you get a chance card in the app. If that were the case, I missed out a lot because I never bothered with the property pieces.

Property you don't own? Never had heard of that.
I was able to keep track of all Chances and Game pieces and the one thing that I found cool was that it works with items redeemed by rewards points. I won 1500 and I reinvested that into hash browns, which gave me yet another free food item.
Other ways to get Chance plays is to buy a qualifying item on the menu though the app while registered to play.
Then yesterday, I received another monopoly piece on a large cookie butter coffee (Mcdonalds was not suppose to be giving those cups away still) and I won a free food item on it too.

I didn't know that. So maybe the 3 chance cards in app were from ordering Big Macs. I'm pretty sure the promo is dead because I ordered four Big Macs using my 4 accounts and none of them earned a chance card in the app. I did receive 2 chance cards in the peel piece. It should be easier to win something with restaurants running out of game piece packaging.

DMVNY? Ahaha
Those two DC McDonald's are 2 miles apart. I was just giving the example how much price can vary with the next nearby restaurant. I'm pretty sure there is a McDonald's in DC that charges over $8 for a Big Mac.

You cannot earn any more Chance plays as of November 1st, but if you peel a piece, the Chance on that or code on that works. So I ended up getting a large coffee, but the peel code worked. The McDonald's were supposed to stop giving any game pieces out after October 31st.

I see. My guess is that most restaurants are too lazy to replace the cups and boxes. The restaurant I went to still had the Monopoly sign up, but after I ordered 4 Big Macs and three large free coffees, they took down the sign. The next Wizard game is on Friday, I doubt there will be anything left by then. I redeemed some expiring points for large ice coffees, and now I have 5 chance cards I'll be redeeming past midnight. I hope I don't get the stupid Peacock subscriptions. Should I redeem in one account or spread around? I did remember when I redeemed 3 chances in a row, they gave me only one peacock subscription.

Personally, I like for it to last long (that's what she said). Throughout the entire promotion, I would calculate the amount of days left and then I would play a Chance or rip off a piece. Seeing as people are stating that 4 a.m. is a time when you are most likely to win, play them at that time. Good luck!
