This is getting warmer. Better than Visible's initial promo posted last week.

Holding off for better offers.

Mint Mobile is a low cost T Mobile based option that can deliver solid service, especially for people who want to cut monthly bills without giving up much day to day usability. The deal requires upfront payment for 3, 6, or 12 months, with taxes and fees extra, and the unlimited plan includes up to 20 gigabytes of hotspot plus SD video. The main tradeoffs are possible deprioritization at busy venues, chat only support, and renewal pricing that can rise after the promo term ends. It is a strong value if the network works well in your area and you are comfortable with the prepaid setup.

  • Mint Mobile can deliver usable service without throttling at theme parks and sports arenas.

    BJDeals666

  • Mint Mobile pricing can stay meaningfully lower than T-Mobile even after accounting for perks.

    coachclass

  • Mint Mobile can include up to 20GB hotspot and SD video streaming on the $15/month plans.

    StrawMan86

  • Mint Mobile can work well for customers who mainly rely on reception rather than expecting network prioritization perks.

    coachclass

  • Mint Mobile promo pricing ends after the initial term, and renewals can cost more than the $15/month offer.

    rh71

  • Mint Mobile unlimited service may see reduced speeds after 50GB per month when the network is busy.

    StrawMan86

  • Mint Mobile can require upfront payment for the selected 3, 6, or 12 month term, which limits flexibility.

    StrawMan86

  • Mint Mobile billing and cancellation can become difficult if auto-renew or plan changes result in duplicate charges.

I have t mobile on a legacy plan and we like it a lot. It's probably $45 a month. Is there any reason NOT to switch to one of these cheaper providers? I had straight talk probably 10 years ago and noticed it was randomly slower but that was older tech older networks etc

Same here on T-Mobile but what keeps us from switching despite what amounts to a very low monthly cost is you're subject to higher renewal pricing after 1 year is up (no more promo 1-year pricing). You can switch back and forth with a Google Voice number to act as a new customer again but it's a hassle, especially with multiple lines.

The other perk of TMo is the free Netflix and Hulu and the unhindered 5G. With services like Mint, if at a populated venue they throttle lower priority services like Mint if many are using it.

I've been on MVNO for the last 5 years. I don't know that I've ever run into the problem of being throttled, but it's hard to tell. Mostly the speed issues I've run into are reception issues - like certain buildings always being a problem. The prices are such that even accounting for perks, the core service costs twice as much on T-Mobile as it does on MVNO. I don't travel much, so I don't know if it's any different in other places than Chicago.

Been on Mint three years and Visible for six... Never have I had network issues in regards to throttling. Theme parks, sports arenas, you name it. It's been worth the savings and convenience without question!

There was $10/month promo for unlimited that expired last week or so but that was for a max of 6 months while for this deal you can get it for up to a year but at $15/month.

Any ideas if they'll have a better offer for Black Friday?

This is their standard deal. They'll have a good promo with a free phone for $450 or so around BF. Last year it was the Pixel 10 Pro I believe.

I used to live in an area where it was impossible to make a call in the first attempt on visible during certain times of the day.
