Add a touchpad, replace the ARM processor with a Snapdragon, and prepackage it with SteamOS.
Shouldn't add that much to the COGS.
Then you have a cheap stocking stuffer portable retro gaming rig that can do some productivity work via web apps.

For a headless Linux home server, 4 GB is enough to handle a lot of services. The quad core CPU is plenty for a most things that aren't graphical or AI-focused. You'd mostly notice its lack of speed when doing things like installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting. But for things like lightweight web servers, DNS, VPN, etc, it should work fine.
If you've already got a home lab, something like this could fill a specialized role like hosting simple-but-essential services. Moving things like DNS and VPN off of a beefier machine can give you more breathing room to make mistakes without taking down your network. While you're Googling how to fix GRUB on your main server, the rest of your home can continue like normal since this weird keyboard thing is still chugging along. Make this device your "boring" host.

I added 4GB ram and it rocks.
