We've done a couple of puzzles from this maker. Great quality all around - $10 is a good deal for even a passable 1000 piece puzzle. This brand is much better, only surpassed by the really fancy wooden ones.

I would LOVE to do some of these puzzles but low vision makes it way too difficult.
I think this is the highest reviewed item I've ever seen on Amazon (for those with over 1000 reviews), having a 92% 5 star rating and NO 1 or 2 star ratings. At $10, this is a great deal.

Do you guys recommend this to 9 yr olds? I will be helping my kid too. During the last holidays, we started 1000-piece spiderman one from costco (took us days to just finish half of it). So it is a little daunting to start any 1000-piece puzzle. In hindsight, it was a terrible one to introduce her to big puzzles.

Do you guys have any recommendations for a 500-piece puzzle that she (with my help) would be able to finish during the holidays?

For a 9 year old probably not solo, but these are more fun to do together anyhow. The art is all very interesting, they all tell a story, and the story mechanism is fun.

This is a really good set. Get it and if your kid is not ready, save it until they are. You will rarely see this brand (and quality) at this price point.

Great great deal. This puzzle series is awesome. My wife is a big puzzle fan so she always has one out at some point and I join in from time to time to "help". I got two of these when they were on sale last Black Friday and gave to her for Christmas. We loved them. They were really fun to put together with some interesting piece shapes mixed in with the regular shapes all are used to. Colors are vibrant and the stories are fun. Well worth it at double this price.

Note: If you plan on doing any of the puzzles from this maker, make sure you do them on a smooth surface and with plenty of extra room around the puzzle because at some point, you will be needing to slide sections of the puzzle around.

Can you link to an example of the "really fancy wooden ones?" I would like a very nice puzzle, but they all seem the same.
