If you like silk PLA, then yes, it prints beautifully. I have quite a few different brands of silk at home and Elegoo is my preferred brand. Silk as not as durable as other PLA but that's not what it is designed for. On my P1S, I print it with the generic PLA settings and on my Elegoo printers I use their built in profile.

Ahh interesting. Cool. Thanks. I just bought an X2D but forgot to buy new filament. I want to print cool things for the nephews and functional things for around the house. I assume this can go in the cool thing category? What other filaments do you recommend for durability?

PETG is my goto for functionalal prints. Just as easy as PLA to print with.

If your looking for fidget toys types of things for the nephews, PLA (non silk) is probably be your best option. As the other poster mentioned, PETG is also very good but it won't have the same dimensional accuracy as PLA which is very important for many fidget type toys. PETG does have benefits over PLA in that in that it can handle a bit more extreme temps. It is not as easy to print as PLA, but it is still relatively easy. PETG does have more "give" before it breaks so it absolutely has it's uses. Just keep in mind that PETG should be dried prior to using and can absorb moisture more than PLA, so if you do have PETG you should probably own a filament dryer as well. If you are just starting with your 3D printer for the 1st time, I'd recommend starting off with PLA just to get more comfortable with your machine.

My kids and their friends love the dragon and snake type prints which silk PLA is good for. My wife likes the assortment of vases I print for her with silk. I have to keep her happy with my hobby so I can keep doing it laugh out loud

Good luck!
