This Delsey two piece polycarbonate spinner set stands out as a rare sub 100 dollar Costco luggage deal, with the carry on and checked bag offering a lightweight, stylish hard shell option. The set is also described as an outgoing clearance model at select stores, and the lower price is tied to the black and dark gray Delsey listings rather than the pricier Rise version. The main cautions are the carry on dimensions, which appear to run larger than standard airline limits, and durability concerns around Delsey wheels and zippers. A nearby Traveler's Choice bundle is repeatedly framed as the stronger value for about 10 dollars more.

Be aware that I've had four sets of Costco Delsey luggage and all four had the wheels break off within months of each other.

That said buying luggage from Costco is a smart move because you can always return it
COSTCO offers choices and if you have any concerns, you have the option of getting the better quality Traveler's Choice luggage for only $10 more and it comes with a whole bunch of compression cubes included. So, it is better value too. See this link:

That's a different model, but they all pretty much look the same. The one with $99.97 pricing likely is an outgoing model and is on clearance at select stores.
Would the ones in the stores be cheaper since there is no shipping factored in the price?

Is the Traveler Choice really better? Even if I dont care about the packing cubes and accessories?

I really miss the old Delsy 70/30 suitcases

Original price is meaningless. When shopping always think it terms of net price - what you actually pay. Is it an unbelievable price. Well, it is rare that you get Delsey branded 2 piece polycarbonate set at that price.

That said, after consideration of all the factors, I strongly believe the Traveler's Choice 2 piece luggage, for only $10 more, in the link below, also from COSTCO, is a substantially better deal. Yes, substantially better.

And what would that be?

More stylish?

Costco has this 3 piece for $199 now, but every at least 6 months, it throws in $50 off so if you wait you can get it for $149. It's on the heavier side but that reflects its quality construction.

YES, in terms of quality. Traveler's Choice is a solid brand (there are several other non-related brands with "Traveler's" in the name so you should always make sure it also has "Choice" so you are not getting other luggage that are trying to milk the confusion from the similar branding.

You can see the fab ratings for the other Traveler's Choice luggage sets sold by COSTCO

Note that there are two DELSEY 2 piece items on sale for $99, both of which are polycarbonate:

The one in this thread:

4.6/5 Rating, Costco Item 1872217, Black Color
https://www.costco.com/p/-/delsey...4000410348

There is a separate DELSEY HELIUM EDGE 2.0 also for $99 (with a 4.5/5 star rating); Dark Gray Color, Item 1872077 | Model 402882977CO
https://www.costco.com/p/-/delsey...4000359153

As I've mentioned 100 times before, the better quality luggage for only $10 more is the one in the link below.

You fail to explain why, even after 3 months of researching

Yes, definitely, quality-wise, the Traveler's Choice for only $10 more.

DELSEY may look better stylistically and in theory has a better brand name - "DELSEY PARIS" but rest assured it ain't made in France, ha ha

Can you tell us why the TC is better other than zippers?

For starters, the zippers: The Traveler's choice luggage uses industry leading "YKK".

In general, the main failure points in luggage are:

a) Zippers
b) Wheels
c) Handle
d) Body

Delsey tries to make its luggage lighter (less thickness) so it may crush. There's a trade off of weight with build-quality.

The irony is that the better COSTCO Traveler's Choice luggage for only $10 more (at $110), is $99 in COTCO stores (lower price). So, it is the identical price to the DELSEY in the Costco warehouse

The Traveler's Choice luggage in the link below should have instead been the frontpage deal!
