Anyone wanting to know what fits your saw, you will need to consult your owner's manual. Swinging a dado is a lot to ask of a table saw, and most home owner models aren't built for it. The 8 inch dado is what a typical 10 inch table saw would use for plywood, soft wood and some light hardwood applications. Some people might recommend a 6 inch dado for under powered saws or for hardwoods. You can always take multiple shallower passes if the material starts to burn from the blade bogging down.
