If you're deciding between the links in the post, the eBay refurb is $199 with coupon, so the new combo at Costco for $200 looks like the easier pick.

Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank

I love these things for their form factor and they make a great small and relatively inexpensive UPS. Their passive inverter draw is very low, and I run things like my NAS off them. My modem, one wifi AP, a switch, and my NAS are connected to one and draw 33 watts, so realistically in the event of a power outage I am covered at least long enough to do a safe power down for my NAS if I don't turn on the generator.

They're great for travel coolers and fridges and will get you through most of the day if they're already cooled and packed well; my 60qt alpicool has no issues with it, and if you're in a vehicle just top it off via 12v input anyway.

That said these are far from the best dollar per watt, but they are practical, and that is their attraction to me. If you keep a look out you can score expansion batteries that also add a bidirectional 140w USB C. I've paid as little as 120 bucks on ebay for the 600wh expansion battery.

My personal experience is that these will NOT readily run most household fridges. YMMV but I have a fridge upstairs and downstairs and the cycle starting will overload these immediately. They will run my chest 7 cu ft freezer without issue, although to be fair as long as one isnt opening and shutting one of those a lot they hold temp reasonably well in an outage.

The spare power banks here are nothing special and if there were even a small savings i'd go with the non smart version. They do not wireless fast charge and are only 5000mah, and they're fairly chunky and get quite hot. They do have a USB cable built in so you can direct charge, though. Not useless, just not worth much to me.

Agree with most of the above comments, though I have found the power banks to be more useful in-practice than expected. I just throw em on the power station to swap/recharge. They are also chargeable via usb-c & I tend to grab one before any trip.

One downside is the expense of the stackable expansion battery, if you wanted expanded runtime. Can't seem to find them cheap.

Solid mini UPS replacement for a home office or router setup, and Costco's return policy makes it a no-brainer over refurbs.

Ordered this and 45 watt solar panel for $70 from bestbuy. Only other deals I've seen are AliExpress but I don't trust them for expensive items. And Costco has good return policy. Hopefully some Jackery 1000v2 or Ecoflow delta deal pops up. River 3 isn't powerful enough for appliances but everything else should be okay. Hopefully this damn power grid doesn't go out before it arrives early next week

I work with an energy company that partners with Ecoflow to offer their Ocean batteries Free as whole home backup and an energy bill savings opportunity. They're rolling out in Tx and IL now and PA and NJ next.

There is only one outlet. What is the main use for it with just that? You can plug in a laptop but you can't plug in a laptop and a monitor. The Wh is pretty low as well? Isn't a jackery 1000 Wh much better than this in terms of Wh?

Those 2 powerbanks are for phones then?

What exactly do you connect to it to as an inexpensive UPS? Your laptop or monitor or something else?

So there are 3 outlets in this. But it doesn't even give much power though at the amount of Wh it has?

It's a small unit meant for small loads.
