Community Reviews
This Ridgid 18V brushless 3 inch by 18 inch belt sander is a factory blemished Direct Tools Outlet unit that still qualifies for Ridgid warranty coverage and the lifetime service agreement when registered. The listing also shows a 3 year warranty, and the service agreement process can take extra effort, with receipt uploads, follow up by chat or email, or even phone calls sometimes needed. Some registrations go through with a screenshot or PDF of the order. It is a solid way to get the tool with warranty support, as long as you are ready to handle the paperwork.
The LSA registration can accept an uploaded DTO receipt screenshot or PDF without requiring physical mailing in some cases.
Factory blemished RIDGID tools purchased from Direct Tools Outlet can be registered for the RIDGID warranty and LSA coverage.
LSA approval can be obtained after contacting RIDGID, and calling may avoid physically mailing receipts.
LSA processing can provide confirmation within about 24 to 48 hours after submitting a receipt PDF and contact form.
The LSA process can be difficult and may require multiple calls or extra steps beyond simply buying from Home Depot.
The warranty terms shown on the listing can conflict with expectations for lifetime LSA coverage when purchased new elsewhere.
LSA eligibility may differ between blemished and reconditioned units, and reconditioned tools may not qualify.
DTO replacement handling can require fast action, since a dead-on-arrival tool must be reported within seven days to avoid switching to warranty/LSA.

Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank
"Covered by a 3-Year Limited Warranty. Qualifying products are eligible for LSA when registered with RIDGID within 90 days of purchase."
And no, you don't need to physically mail anything in. Just upload your receipt on the registration page and if it doesn't automatically go through then send them an email or chat to request a review and it'll go through no problem.
Do it early. Their site says mail in for DTO and you don't want to leave it til the deadline.
Another warning. Immediately test the tool upon receipt. You have seven days to notify them if you get a dead one. Don't let it sit in the box for 10 days or you'll have to deal with the warranty/LSA instead of getting a replacement from DTO.

I've also never had to struggle too much to get my DTO blemished tools covered by LSA. Submit my receipt as a PDF, fill in their contact form noting the information and link to that uploaded receipt in the message. I usually have a confirmation it has been processed in 24-48 hours.
