I bought the non SSD variant of this months back as a mini 1080p gaming PC for the kids. It's running BazziteOS and has handled a huge amount of games with surprising ease at better 1uality than expected. Whisper quiet under full load in something like Horizon Zero Dawn during one of the blizzard scenes without stuttering or anything. We've since capped it at 1440p 60fps and have had zero complaints, other than the fingerprint reader button not working with Linux, but that is quite common with many biometric sensors.

Not a bad 680m option. Has both USB 4 and Occulink. So you have good options for eGPU support.

Thanks OP. There's also this one for $387 before tax with coupon code USD1160:

https://www.aliexpress.us/item/32...15336.html

I'm just in the market for a light gaming machine for my kid. So don't roast me if there's some spec that makes it a deal breaker for some.

Ryzen 7 8845HS
24GB RAM and 1TB SSD
Dual USB4 ports
Occulink
Display Ports: HDMI + DisplayPort + USB4
Networking: Wi-Fi 6 and 2.5Gb Ethernet

IMHO, your linked item is a better deal if it really has 24GB ram and 1TB SSD. My concern is the title of the listing says "Barebone" and I can't find that exact model with the 24GB ram on the Aoostar website, they only have this which has 2* DDR5-5600RAM slots https://aoostar.com/products/aoos...hs-mini-pc. If you do buy this, just add $5 of items to get it to $450 before coupon and use code USD1180 for $80. Don't forget to use the 25% cashback, search google for "Aliexpress Cashback", should be about the 3rd link in the search results.

Yeah I'm seeing it as no RAM no SSD, I don't think it beats this deal

I contacted the seller and they confirmed 24GB RAM and 1TB SSD. I'm not sure if I should cancel the order or not. Anyone have trouble with AliExpress free returns. Especially if it's not as described (including not as confirmed by the seller)?

That's what I'm worry too. Have not bought anything big from AliExpress. Anyone has good experience, please share.

I run it on my raspberry pi, can't remember if it's on the 4 or 5 but it runs perfectly fine. From Gemini:

Use Cases for Pi 5: Choose the Raspberry Pi 5 if you plan to run resource-heavy add-ons like local voice control, heavy video processing (e.g., Frigate with multiple cameras), large databases, or NVMe storage.

Use Cases for Pi 4: A Raspberry Pi 4 (ideally the 4GB or 8GB RAM version) is more than enough for typical smart homes with dozens of devices, lighting, and sensors. It is also the better budget choice if you find a good deal or already own one.

FYI, the one you linked is no longer listed. If it was a scam, just do a charge back on your credit card if AliExpress gives you issues.
