Looking at a 75" roku tv for the bedroom, wait for better deals or pull the trigger.... I also have the 20% off one item at Target, the TCL 75" is 10 less, but google search seems to think this is best for the bedroom out of the 2. Wish they didn't charge so much for mounting ..

For me, most any TV is OK, as long as it works properly, however, I am considering this for a friend of 40+ years who is less fortunate than I. Will somebody please elaborate on the quality of this sucker (she likes Roku TV for streaming, not her, but family/guests)?

I bought it last month for $199.00, it's a good tv, using it for my game consoles and TV apps, it's nice and bright, definitely going to see if Best buy will refund difference since it's less than 30 days old

These are cheap because they make their money from data mining what's on your network and what you watch. There are several tools available now to stop this behavior with the added benefit of making the TV simpler and snappier to use, and they're all very user-friendly to do.

Is it possible to just use these tvs without connecting to the internet at all? Not even once? Or do they require WiFi to get "setup"?

I'm unsure of these specifically, but many bargain TVs do indeed require Internet to initially setup.

At this price, it might be worth the gamble if you already have a Shield or Apple TV just in case you can skip connecting the TV to your network. You could also block it at the network level with pihole or something similar, but that's not nearly as user-friendly.
