I've looked at these, but Project Farm tested some and I went with the Pxton ones from his reviews, and right now it's $20 for two with handsets, ear pieces, rechargeable batteries and charger bases. We hiked up to Lava Lake here near Bozeman and had no loss of quality. I'm not sure exactly how far away we were, but it had to be close to a mile away, because we were at least 20 minutes away on a 3 mile hike. Took us 65 minutes, the two teen boys made it in 40. These may work the same for that distance, but based on the $100 radio quality, I decided to get these. I might even get another set. I wanted to use these on a couple trips we made that didn't have phone service here, happens frequently, because they were extremely handy.

I went down a major rabbit hole and wound up getting pxton as well. 6 pack for $30 I think. They are the best Walkie talkies we've owned. We've had a few over the years, a 22 mile cobra, a Motorola similar to this one and some Amazon ones. Pxton blew those out the water in terms so signs and clairty and they're dirt cheap

Link? And what does "in terms so signs" mean?

Very confusing post. You say you "looked at these" (presumably the Motorola in op), yet bought the Pxtons and were very happy and a (extremely) detailed review of your use case. Then you say "These may work the same for that distance, but based on the $100 radio quality, I decided to get these. I might even get another set. I wanted to use these on a couple trips we made that didn't have phone service here." Why not just buy more Pxton? What's the "$100 radio quality?" What does "I decided to get these" mean? Motorola in op or more Pxtons you already have/tested?
