ewww! there are times when preservatives are a good thing. or at least pasteurization. i don't buy those funky things. usually just water but i try my best to bring from home. esp if it was cheap or free. i hate to pay so much money for drinks. and then if it wasn't good......ouch that hurts!

dunno why that thread is still open. that is beyond entertainment. i zoned out after a few posts. i waste a lot of time on sd and online in general but all that is beyond boring in a deal forum. are the mods just letting them vent or what? they need to close that thread. not serving any purpose. just bickering. somebody tell them to shut it.

have dh man the grill?
Well, I don't have the heart to ask him to stand over a hot grill when the temp is 106 OMG I grilled last weekend and it was hot as heck out there beside that grill.. DH actually hates grilling because of that, so I do it most of the time. But, I don't think I want to be outside doing it this week.

How was the beach (hmm, I think that's where you went for vacation)? Let Publix do the cooking one night (fried or rotisserie chicken) or one of those big round bread rings that have cold cuts on them?
The beach was great! Already want to go back. The sister in law we went with was not so great laugh out loud won't ever vacation with her again!

I may end up getting food one night.. I love publix rotisserie chicken but won't buy them unless they are on sale. They are kinda over priced to me, and sadly with our family just one of them isn't enough Frown

Same here... I was thinking salad will be a big part of it - and maybe some grilled sandwiches in my nifty grill pan on the stove top. Or bake in the AM and reheat in the PM.
!
Yep, I got a big bag of salad today myself..

Tonight we had veg soup that I cooked all afternoon in the crockpot while the kids and I played in the pool.. Plus I browned some ground beef and made up some sloppy joes too (found some manwich in the back of the pantry from some long time ago coupon deal)..
Gonna use the rest of the ground beef tomorrow and we are doing taco salads and chicken quesadillas.. I am gonna cook the chicken in the crockpot all night. Should have enough chicken for the quesadillas and the leftover will make some chicken salad.

whew, it's HOT. I ordered Qs for a sale that ends today... they came this afternoon in the mail, so I hit two Publix this afternoon. Radio personality said it was 104. All I know, is I wanted to come home, put up my groceries and have a big glass of iced tea. Cheers

Thank you God for inside employment. (today is my friday off)

Thank you God for an AC unit that works fine.

ETA: I don't remember it being this hot, this early in the season. Last week in July and first 3 weeks in August are usually the worst for this area.

Same here! At 5 pm the thermometer in my car was still showing 104 degrees. EEK!

I feel badly for the employees at a local BK. I personally have called the corporate hq, hoping they would put pressure on the franchise owner to get the a/c fixed. Today, the staff were all behind the counter sweating. I can only imagine how hot it is back with the grill and such. Mad Dh and I were there with the boys, girls were at the library, and when we sat in the back dh and I talked about how poorly the store was being managed. Turns out a regional manager was sitting at the next table owner. If I had realized that he was there, I would have talked even louder. Big Grin There is no excuse for improperly working a/c in a restaurant and the possible health code violations make me mad.

It's only 88 here, but still that's hot enough for me to give my thanks as well. I don't "do" hot/sticky/sweaty well at all, and could not manage without AC.

I've had a good laugh the last 3 weeks at my new neighbor. They must have hired Larry, Moe and Curly to put up a vinyl fence. First day they drilled holes in the ground. They waited probably 5 days and then brought out the posts and concrete. Posts set in concrete (I noticed some are really short, some are too tall). Rails go up a week later, some are not horizontal with the ground like they should be (droop). They started hanging panels on Tuesday. Most of them hung, but not all of them. Today (when it was supposed to be 105) they worked on putting the top rail in, but started cutting the posts that were too tall... oops, they cut thru a panel, so it had to be replaced. Apparently the top caps didn't fit like they were supposed too, so they've been hacking at them with a hammer and saw. I suppose they are being paid by the hour, as I think a reliable, reputable company would have been done the day the panels were hung.

My cat wasn't impressed and she was scared to walk in the back yard.

wow ... I was Confused at the beginning of the fight...and now more Confused as to why the HD poster from D/G was in a thread with no actual deal talk LMAO

I now hate Odwalla
well I've got a vomit disgusting rant with pics. I went to SW w/ the kids to splurge on a couple Naked/Odwalla drinks since it was so darn hot while we were doing errands right next door. Mind you I used no coupons Hide There I go downing my Odwalla Super Protein in 5 sec...and look down at the cap before closing the bottle....to see some green fuzzy powdery gunk in the cap and in side vomit None of the ingredients are supposed to look green! I feel okay for now...but I'm definitely never buying that crap again. SW and Odwalla are getting some hate mail with pictures right about now Ranting

It's hot and the kids are destroying the house. I think I'll just be going back to some air conditioned store that has toys...but believe it or not, I don't want to go to T today (well, only because the one w/ the Starbucks is a little too far for my taste right now ...bogo frapps w/ DH this Sat I hope).
Terrible. I have never had Odwalla, though I have thought about purchasing them a number of times. They just lost a potential customer! I hope you shoot them an e-mail. Unfortunately, that will probably result in product coupons to buy more of their product, which I wouldn't want if I were you!
