So for you older people, what do you do/say to a "friend/coworker" that only "uses/relies" on you for rides not only to work but everywhere else and has just started texting me asking me to let them borrow money? I know they're in a bind but I'm not really in a position to help others financially

People like that will generally leech as much off of you as they can for as long as they can.
Tell them you don't lend money to friends... but you'll gladly give them $50 if it means you'll never see them again Tongue

It's true...they'll leech as much as possible and I def wouldn't do it since they only use you for rides...I mean if they were a good friend it might be a lil different...but still that's tricky. I only give money to one friend, but I've known him since kindergarten and he's been there for me when I've really needed someone...and yet I still feel used sometimes.

So just be nice and say, sorry I can't afford to support anyone but me and my family.

she just got mad at me for not giving it to her
she was like "dam I'd give it back to you in the morning!"

I don't mind picking up lunch or drinks at a gas station during/after work sometimes but I'd only probably let one of my friends and my family borrow money but they all have more money than me anyways

I say, let her be mad, you're the one helping her with rides and if she's not greatful then that's her problem. She also might just be mad from being embarresed for having to ask for money and then getting turned down. Don't feel too bad and just keep being there for rides and just be understanding.
