True. With hubby, we didn't actually "know" know until like maybe a couple months before he was shipped off to OK for his training. They spent a few months there, and then a year in Iraq.

Of course that was only like a year into the war.

Yeah, I remember hearing that. From a soldier's perspective though, I don't think there's a whole lot of difference between the two. laugh out loud

I do.

In Afghanistan, a lot of engagements are occurring at beyond 500m out. 500m is the maximum effective range for a point target; that's about as far as you can actually hit something at a specific point with the weapon. That's just one of the more serious issues. To be honest, I'd prefer Iraq over Afghanistan.
