My dad doesn't call it that - actually my dad is a super computer geek, he spent 30 years in the IT business - you know, back when a single computer took up an entire room.

Also I've found technology usage is probably the single most important "treatments" in keeping my mental health up. It forces me to concentrate and connect conceptual ideas. It's constantly evolving and changing. And unlike decades ago the information is disseminated down to the users nearly instantaneously on demand via the internets! I don't have to go find a book or a trade journal to stay current on developments.
Plus the investment in technology is waaaaay cheaper than the cost of a nursing home!
I think with other "older" people there is an aversion to and fear with technology. Once they can overcome that obstacle, they can actually be equally productive as middle aged users.
