That's what I'm worried about...He's stubborn and seems okay but no one has really had time to prepare for anything. The last 2 weeks have been a huge fast blur, but I call him everyday and talk to him like normal, tell him whats going on with my job and stuff. I try not to act like it bothers me too much around him, but then I cry myself to sleep most night because of it.

She made sure with us kids that there was NO WAY for anyone to make fun of our names. And they didn't! But the glasses and the braces... they went to town with that. laugh out loud

I am assuming Mal's name is Rachel.

One more fact about my name. My parents almost didn't name me Amber Nicole (Nichole, whatever). They were going to name me................. Joyce Marlene.

He's going to need strong people around/there for him so that's going to be your job and it sounds as though you're doing that splendidly thus far. Smilie

You're doing the right thing for now by keeping that emotional part as private as possible now. Normally it wouldn't be something I'd recommend but a large part of his treatment will be mental.

The chemotherapy can and probably will be physically and emotionally draining for him. Sometimes nausea can be a real factor accompanied by a huge loss of appetite. Fatigue is almost always a by-product in varying degrees.

Not trying to scare you. Just... been down this road. A lot. And trying to pass on at least some of what I've learned. Smilie

We went though the name game...wife would throw out a name and if I couldn't say something slang about it in 5 seconds...it was in the to be considered pile of names.
