A lady in our neighborhood was some missionary in Africa. She was there helping women who had lost their husbands. Anyway one day when she was down there we heard a ton of sirens go by the front of the neighborhood. Her husband had been in a crash. Some lady cut him off and his car burst into flames and he passed away. They had to call her while she was in Africa helping those other women and tell her her own husband had passed away. They have two young kids too. One of them was in Elizabeth's class. For weeks when I drove by her house there were so many cars there with family and friends that they had to park in the grass. I was really glad she had so many people there helping her. Can't even imagine what that must have been like.
There was a lady at visitation last night that used to work with Robert. She's an older lady and her husband had a stroke and passed away a few months ago. She never came back from leave...she just retired. She had enough time anyway. Well, she went through the line, hugged the wife of Robert's friend, then made her way to the back of the room. She was so upset. She was almost doubled over. I felt so bad for her. It must have been hard just losing your own husband.
Heading off to bed. Night all.
A certain poster has gotten me riled up today. I think that this person is probably intelligent but has 180 degree opposite views of mine and just will not let anything go. They have to get the last word and they have to be right. When the topic doesn't get heated I find them sort of humerous/interesting. I'd say the breakdown of their posting is 40% heated/opinionated, 40% humorous and 20% just "stuff". Anyways, my question, would you put them on ignore?

I think Empire really screws these guys. The salesperson told us "don't worry, I've drawn everything up just right," but when the guys got here they only had enough carpet for 3 bedrooms and 2 staircases. I was like--um, no, they sold us the whole house. The poor guys had to work shorthanded while one of them went to find more carpet.
Then, at 1030 at night, they find out they're not finished!
Also, Verizon makes it stupidly difficult to reset the FIOS ONT after your router's been unplugged for longer than 2 hours. Although Apple doesn't help by not putting a DHCP release/renew in their Airport GUI.
And now I have to go make my bed & go to sleep so I can get up at 0600 to take the dogs to Mom & Dad's so I can meet the painters here at 0730, the carpet guys redux God-only-knows-when, and the other contractor who's coming to do our counters and something else--and who is the only one with a key--who'll show up whenever he feels like it I guess.

On another note, are you running MOCA or Ethernet from the ONT? I had them shut my MOCA off and switch to ethernet, got a NIM100 bridge for my guide and on-demand. Now I can use any router...that Actiontec is a POS..
Although I have yet to get my IP to renew after 2 hours, I always call them and say "please renew my IP, I switched routers and it got stuck". Takes 5 minutes. Then they offer me a job...

Ethernet. I have an Apple Airport router I really like so I had them switch that right away. Instead of calling you can reboot your ONT to get a new DHCP lease if your router is down for more than 2 hours. Unplug it, open the ONT (top part), disconnect the battery (or even just one of the leads) for one minute, reconnect the battery, plug the ONT back in. Easy. The battery is just like the kind you find in UPS backup units.
I hated that Actiontec, not in the least b/c the default password is printed on the side of the router. Plus I don't have FIOS TV so it's basically useless to me. Although I will be moving soon so I may hang onto the Actiontec just for the MOCA capability...
Anyway, yeah, Verizon's kind of a PITA but I dunno who else offers FIOS speeds and reliability (I've seriously had 100% uptime since I switched from DSL--it's never, knock on wood, ever dropped on me once).
