Take a bottle of maraschino cherries, empty out half the syrup and replace it with amaretto. Let them soak for a day or two. Melt some dark chocolate in a double boiler and dip the cherries two or three times. Let them cool on wax paper or parchment paper on a cold plate before dipping the additional times.

I used a 10 ounce bar of Hershey's Special Dark (the really big bar), 4 ounces of Baker's Semi-sweet baking chocolate, and an 8 ounce bar of Lindt's 60% Cacao dark chocolate. I chopped them all into small pieces and microwaved on HI for 30 seconds to get the bowl and the chocolate started melting, then I put it on the double boiler.

If I thought I could package and ship these things, I'd make a boatload of them for everyone. Until then, I just told you how to make them. Wink

Thanks V I'm going to try that. I LOVE maraschino cherries as it is. I remember one time I sat at this bar and asked the bartender for a bowl of them....I was a little tipsySmilie He gave me a can of whip cream and I just sat there in my glory....People seemed interested in the ideaBig Grin
