I have been on antidepressants/antianxiety meds since 14 and have accepted the fact that my brain works differently and I will always need meds in order to keep myself in check. Whee I went to a councilor recently and after about 4 sessions she said she really didn't see much of a reason for me to keep coming back. She said I am doing everything correctly, I understand what is wrong and why it is wrong (chemical imbalance and it is genetic plus some PSTD).
I seriously wish Prozac had been available when I was 13 or 14 and depression first started bothering me. Unfortunately, that was 1971 / 72. I inheirited it from my mother and her mother.

They never put me on Prozac. I started with Paxil which is the farking devil. Got addicted to it and had to come off of that. Then it was Zoloft, Luvox... I dunno a lot. Now I take Effexor and have for about 5 years. It is the best I have found. I also take the occasional klonopin or adivan. I used to take xanax but they switched me to klonopin, which I prefer. I only take those at the onset of a panic attack, which isn't often anymore since I upped my effexor dose.

Everyone's biochemistry is as unique as their fingerprints. Too many people believe a single drug should cure the same symptoms for all patients, but nothing could be further from the truth regarding the chemistry of the brain. We're all wired differently, even if a majority of people are wired very similarly. Prozac worked well for me for several years, then gradually stopped working so well. I changed to Zoloft and it left me with absolutely zero range of emotions and feelings. It kicked my depression squarely in the ass, but it left me with no joy or pleasure or appreciation of anything. I switched from Zoloft to Cymbalta (Prozac's younger brother) and that's been working well for me for several years now.

Some people (my wife for example) benefit from a combination of two or more drugs. My wife took Xanax for anxiety but had serious addiction problems with it. She was taking Prozac at the same time but the anxiety and panic attacks were still terrible. After two separate failures with Xanax, I suggested Buspirone to her doctor in addition to the Prozac. Since the Buspirone was added, she has had zero problems with anxiety or panic, and her entire outlook has changed for the better.

Nope, but anything squash is usually pretty awesome.

I think the final count is twelve stings. It's really annoying, they go from just being a dull ache to a burning, stabbing pain every few minutes.
My sandals came off while I was running away like a little girl (but at least I didn't scream like one laugh out loud) and I think they're just staying out there until it gets dark.

Yup, unfortunately, too many people and too many doctors don't understand this very simple principle.

Not sure about that. The stuff they are using is the "guts" which I have always known to throw away. Honestly, I wouldn't try it and I try just about anything. Dontknow
