I don't know why some people label me as a beer snob. The beer I always have in my fridge is Yuengling lager. I just like to taste lots of different beers and appreciate them.

We had a beer party last Saturday where everyone brought a case of something non-standard, drank a bunch, and swapped beers at the end. One guy invited never drank anything other than Coors Light. We encouraged him to at least taste a couple different beers and he fell in love with Chaos Theory, a very malty IPA. We were all very surprised and he kept asking for more.

I definitely had a couple interesting beers, including one that supposedly tasted like Lucky Charms. They lied.
I've never had Yuengling lager but my roommate raves about it.. What's so good about it? (Can't get it in Texas)

Last night we had a bit of a beer tastery during poker. I bought a Pyramid sampler.. and some other one that started w/a B. My gf's sister bought a woodchuck sampler.

The Pyramid stuff was decent, but seemed a lot sweeter and fairly simple. Wasn't much of anything to their Hefewiezen.

It is much better than b/c/m, but costs the same. that's why i like it. it's a pretty standard lager.

Curious about it as well. I had never heard about it until a few years ago and now it is all over the place.

My preference is Newcastle.

i equate yuengling lager with rednecks. if you've ever driving through pottsville, where its brewed, that area and all surrounding areas are redneck haven. such a depressed area. i used to live less than an hour away from this joint.

From my informal polls of friends and relatives, Yuengling Lager and Sam Adams Boston Lager are about neck and neck in terms of taste. They're pretty different, but it seems that the field is basically split between the two. The bonus is that you can get a case of Yuengling 12oz longnecks for about $20-$22 around here. It's also the second largest American-owned brewery (with Sam Adams being the largest).

The green glass is the biggest strike against it, but as long as they're not sitting in the sun you're fine. It's a beer I can drink all day and night, and I always try to have some on hand.

that's why i buy pounders! they really should switch to brown bottles...their whole line needs a graphics/packaging update...america's oldest brewery...and you can tell by their graphics.

Seriously?

I would equate PBR or Natty-Boh with rednecks before Yuengling.
