Seriously?

I would equate PBR or Natty-Boh with rednecks before Yuengling.
Living near Pottsville I can see where he gets that. I think many of the People of Walmart pics come from up near that area.

find your way a couple hours north to the coal regions and those chicken lovers only drink yuengling, budweiser, and miller lite. i dont see too much pbr around suprisingly enough. mostly yuengling though. maybe they feel some sort of connection to yuengling since the brewery is basically in their backyard.

I'm sure some of my enjoyment about Sam Adams is that it comes from my home state.

Finally got a txt back from my friend..

The other sampler I bought was Berghoff.

Wasn't too bad, but was also very sweet. In fact, their red tasted more like a cider than regular beer IMO.

I've never had Yuengling lager but my roommate raves about it.. What's so good about it? (Can't get it in Texas)
Nothing is awesome about it unless you are a yankee. Yanks love that shit. I think it sucks. One of those beers with tons of fanfare that ends up being a big letdown....like New Belgium Fat Tire.

Not available in Texas.

Fat Tire is alright, but I've been underwhelmed with the other New Belgium brews I've tried.

I think the only other New Belgium beer I like besides Fat Tire is their winter one: 2 Below. I like it more than Fat Tire actually.

Fat Tire and Yeungling only have extra fanfare because they're not available everywhere. For a cheap domestic (something you can get for like $3 at a bar in the area) it is hands down the best beer out there. If you try comparing it to a nice craft beer, you're going to run into trouble.

New Belgium makes some pretty decent beers. I like their Ranger IPA.. Fat Tire is decent and can be found in Texas... even in cans actually.

I'm a "yankee" I guess.. but never hang yeungling or however it's spelled.

No? I found it a semi light IPA witha little bite to it. Could be a decent session beer depending on the evening.

I had my buddy's homebrewed Saison last night... now that was a tasty beer.

I also had a bottle of a Special Belgian Ale I brewed last September. That kicked my ass and was still tasty, though the phenols are really shining through (a negative for this style).

Mostly true on both counts. If I am in a Applebees type bar where all the beer sucks, I will usually just get a Sam Adams. It seems like every restaurant/bar in america has S.A.

I didn't either.

I 'think' this was their first run at a Pale. Not sure why they called it an IPA. Should have just been called a Bitter Pale Ale. Tasted like a bitter Siera Nevada to me.
