Sorry you are experiencing this uncertainty and that the doc is being so elusive. I agree with Teri, if they're not sure exactly what it is because he displays symptoms of different diagnoses, then do more damn testing! Un.be.leave.able.
Sorry to all who are dealing with difficulties with doctors/various therapies/diagnoses, etc. That's no fun
Got cereal one last time. The last time I stocked up on cereal it wasn't enough to get us through to the last big sale so hopefully this time I have done that.....and managed to get cheap/free groceries and clothing this week too

Thanks guys - I got referrals from his Ped for OT & Speech Therapist and I will call them tomorrow to see if they take our insurance and if they will see him. They can at least work with him on the low muscle tone/speech stuff. I will be working on the pediatric psych dept as well ------ bah they are unhelpful. The person he saw was a developmental pediatrician *I think* --- I will be calling to get the diagnosis billing number Teri and I will check with you when I have it.
It sounds as if many people on here have these issues - bah - woudn't it be nice if our kiddos fit neatly into boxes ... but they don't! I am not a believer in over-diagnosing but I think not diagnosing because of not fitting easily into something is detrimental to the kiddo as it makes it harder for them to get the help they could use to function better in the grand scheme of things in society.

DS is sick again and in surgery right now. I've been at the hospital most of the day just ran home to let the dog out and grab a bit of dinner before going back.
Another shunt failure and he is so sick again. This time, they have to replace the whole thing, and are going to try to place the tubing from his head into some tissue around his lung. I don't know. I just want him to get beyond all these shunt failures. He's not been 'right' since the last one. Unstable, incontinent at times. Please say a
