Well, I think that if the newbieish folks in deals would just shut up sometimes, we could all get along and shop quite happily. But because they have to publicly brag and be total idiots about what stupid and illegitimate things they did, they ruin even the legitimate deals.

We may need to skip T until the you-know-what-hattery dies down - if it ever does. Seems like the dorks are crawling out of the woodwork now.

I also can't believe that the thread hasn't been shut down yet. It seems like it is spiraling out of hand and a little time off might be a good idea for some folks.

But I needed my 40 shirts, how else can I only do laundry once every month and a half

Ank, I tried repping your post in deals, but it wouldn't let me. I couldn't agree more.

I find I can't get in to Black Friday since I really started SlickDealing. The prices are average at best, and everyone is all over them like they are getting a great deal. I still go with long time friends, but spend more energy laughing over everyone thinking they are getting such a deal than fighting for the deals.

And I can't even enter the thread around that time. Nightmares for sure.

This. I can't figure out why people feel the need to boast of their stupidity.


DS is out of surgery and in his room. They just gave him some morphine and he is sleeping, but oh boy was he ever agitated before the meds. Usually, with brain surgery, no pain meds, but they opened him in 4 places so the doc said he would need it. I'm so glad because he is in alot of pain around his lung. They opened his head, neck, chest and abdomen. He looks like he has been to war. His head is wrapped, bandages everywhere. I don't feel good. I can hardly breath the pain is so bad. I thought I pulled a muscle but now I;m thinking it may be something with my chest/lungs. It hurts so bad to breath. I'm glad DS is sleeping because I just didn't have the energy to pull and tug on him. His dad took a shift so I could come home and take a break.

No. I think it's the opposite. I think I feel like crying because I feel so bad, and dealing with DS so sick is draining.

I woke up in alot of pain across my back and chest this morning. I thought maybe I'd slept in a funny position or something and it's just been hurting all day. Its getting worse though and it hurts to breath. I can only do shallow breaths. Feels like a knife stabbing me when I breath. I'll get it checked in the morning if it's not better.

The surgeon said if this doesn't work he is sending him to the University to see a surgeon who does some kind of procedure that makes the shunt not needed. I forget what he called it, it was a looooong name, but it sounded dangerous and frightening. Something to do with cutting brain tissue. I kinda blocked it all out after that. I wish I could take it from him. I really do hate to see him like this.

CVS story.. I went last night and picked up my DS prescription refill and came home around midnight.. Started looking at the pills cause the bottle seemed bigger. The pills were not the same as he usually gets.. NO big deal I thought, maybe a different supplier company. I started looking at the label that says, your medicine is "pink round tablet with xx, xxx imprinted".. well, the pills weren't round and had different numbers on them. I googled the pill info and they had given me pills that were twice the strength.. I was thinking that if I weren't observant enough, my kid could have overdosed on his seizure medication. I called today and the guy wasn't even apologetic about it.. kept saying they didn't even have a record of the refill. Finally told me to come in and they would look at it. I told him "no, I want the correct RX filled now, and I would stop by later". No way was I waiting another half hour in CVS for them to fix and refill it... pretty sure he could tell I wasn't happy at all. Anyway, I went by tonight and they had put a 25.00 GC in the bag.. Weird thing though. The cashier made me sign a refund slip and there was 10.00 in the bag which I assumed was supposed to be my refund that should have applied to the new RX, but cashier rang it up and handed me the money and told me I was supposed to take it.. SO, I got the GC plus 10.00 in cash.. Scary that they don't have a double check system or something to prevent these things from happening.

Your breathing issue almost sounds like Pleurisy pains, but hopefully you feel better and got a good night's sleep last night. and to you.

Honestly I am surprised that the system is not set up to distinguish that the coupons attached to food items and deducted from that price as such, assuming the coupons attached. For instance, if crackers were bought for $2.00 and a $1.00 off coupon was used which attached, why didn't the register know that only $1 was spent on food vs. thinking $2 was spent on food? Of course if they didn't attach then the register would have no way of knowing whether or not it was a coupon for food or for a non food item. Someone using coupons for food with FS's at Target will spend less of their own $'s for other stuff, but they will spend their FS's faster. Then at the end of the month either they will have to spend real $'s for food, or they will get less food for their family. It wouldn't cost the taxpayers more, since the recipient won't get more food-stamps, but it may very well cost some children who don't get enough food for the month, since their parents are out of FS's (which ended up being applied to non-food items) and they don't have the $'s to spend on food or they unwilling to spend $'s on food.

Teri~ Are you still working at the hospital? I know you changed jobs, but wasn't sure if your completely out it the hospital now. The reason I ask is bc at my hospital, if your a benefited employee everything done in house is free, even ER co pays. So you could check that out as an option.
