L2B - your meal sounds great too. If it was just me, I could totally deal with baked chicken that is lightly salted/peppered, salads without dressing, etc... I personally enjoy the taste of foods for their own individual tastes - if that makes sense.

DH, on the other hand, is easily bored with foods. I guess that's why I use so many different things - especially since we tend to have a meal that is basically the same each time - I just make it seem different by changing spices/sauces. *shrug* Seems to work for him. (not that I don't enjoy it also, but I don't *need* it like he does - if that makes sense...)

Sometimes more than you think. I know that my "poor, divorced mom" pre-coupon days did not consist of a lot of fresh/fiber filled foods. I didn't think I could afford it and bought a lot of cheaper things that didn't help digestion much!!

I am sure my body is getting ready. I have longer/wider stretch marks cuz baby has dropped, my hips are sore and weaker (and my knees too for some reason), and my muscles just feel funky. I'm also getting some major nesting, a little anxiety, want to eat and rest a LOT, etc...

I'm still not sure how she's positioned. Sometimes I think she may be right on, then other times I thnk she's sideways or breech. Technically, she's got another week before they worry too much about that - but on the other hand, if she's measuring 3 weeks larger - she may not be physically able to turn if she's breech!

Well.. I am sleepy. Guess I should go try to sleep!! Sleep has been hard lately. I do okay for a while, but seems I have trouble at some point in the night and end up on the couch. Frown Soon it will be over though, and we'll be cuddling our little punkin' head!! Oh - the weirdest thing is that I can keep the air at about 77/78 during the day and be just fine - but at night and early morning I feel like I'm burning up. I've been having to turn it down to 74ish at night. Thankfully, DH is not perturbed, but the girls have been dressing warmer for bed. laugh out loud My polar bear teenager has noticed the change, and it's kind of funny...

CVS story.. I went last night and picked up my DS prescription refill and came home around midnight.. Started looking at the pills cause the bottle seemed bigger. The pills were not the same as he usually gets.. NO big deal I thought, maybe a different supplier company. I started looking at the label that says, your medicine is "pink round tablet with xx, xxx imprinted".. well, the pills weren't round and had different numbers on them. I googled the pill info and they had given me pills that were twice the strength.. I was thinking that if I weren't observant enough, my kid could have overdosed on his seizure medication. I called today and the guy wasn't even apologetic about it.. kept saying they didn't even have a record of the refill. Finally told me to come in and they would look at it. I told him "no, I want the correct RX filled now, and I would stop by later". No way was I waiting another half hour in CVS for them to fix and refill it... pretty sure he could tell I wasn't happy at all. Anyway, I went by tonight and they had put a 25.00 GC in the bag.. Weird thing though. The cashier made me sign a refund slip and there was 10.00 in the bag which I assumed was supposed to be my refund that should have applied to the new RX, but cashier rang it up and handed me the money and told me I was supposed to take it.. SO, I got the GC plus 10.00 in cash.. Scary that they don't have a double check system or something to prevent these things from happening.

Well, I think that if the newbieish folks in deals would just shut up sometimes, we could all get along and shop quite happily. But because they have to publicly brag and be total idiots about what stupid and illegitimate things they did, they ruin even the legitimate deals.

We may need to skip T until the you-know-what-hattery dies down - if it ever does. Seems like the dorks are crawling out of the woodwork now. Frown

I also can't believe that the thread hasn't been shut down yet. It seems like it is spiraling out of hand and a little time off might be a good idea for some folks.
I know it got bad at times, but I found ever since they merged another thread into the Target deals ( I can't remember what it was - but it brought over a whole slew of newbies, which is fine, we were all newbies once, but it brought over the S&M'ers and idiots..Insane

Ank, I tried repping your post in deals, but it wouldn't let me. I couldn't agree more.

I find I can't get in to Black Friday since I really started SlickDealing. The prices are average at best, and everyone is all over them like they are getting a great deal. I still go with long time friends, but spend more energy laughing over everyone thinking they are getting such a deal than fighting for the deals.

And I can't even enter the thread around that time. Nightmares for sure.
I was giving out reps so much tonight I ran out.. I owe a few... including one to you..

This. I can't figure out why people feel the need to boast of their stupidity.

DS is out of surgery and in his room. They just gave him some morphine and he is sleeping, but oh boy was he ever agitated before the meds. Usually, with brain surgery, no pain meds, but they opened him in 4 places so the doc said he would need it. I'm so glad because he is in alot of pain around his lung. They opened his head, neck, chest and abdomen. He looks like he has been to war. His head is wrapped, bandages everywhere. I don't feel good. I can hardly breath the pain is so bad. I thought I pulled a muscle but now I;m thinking it may be something with my chest/lungs. It hurts so bad to breath. I'm glad DS is sleeping because I just didn't have the energy to pull and tug on him. His dad took a shift so I could come home and take a break.

Ever just feel like crying, but you don't because you won't allow yourself to?

/pity party
Pray Grouphug

I'm so sorry that they had to do so much surgery on your son, I hope it all works out for him so he is in less pain... That must be terrible to see him with all those bandages on him. I know sometimes it looks worse than it is, but it's still hurts us as mothers. My daughter put him on her prayer chain (just as Teri's son - if you pm me his first name I will let her know)

Quote from .teri. :
No. I think it's the opposite. I think I feel like crying because I feel so bad, and dealing with DS so sick is draining.

I woke up in alot of pain across my back and chest this morning. I thought maybe I'd slept in a funny position or something and it's just been hurting all day. Its getting worse though and it hurts to breath. I can only do shallow breaths. Feels like a knife stabbing me when I breath. I'll get it checked in the morning if it's not better.

The surgeon said if this doesn't work he is sending him to the University to see a surgeon who does some kind of procedure that makes the shunt not needed. I forget what he called it, it was a looooong name, but it sounded dangerous and frightening. Something to do with cutting brain tissue. I kinda blocked it all out after that. I wish I could take it from him. I really do hate to see him like this.
You know as mothers we know we would do anything for our children if they are hurting inside or out... that instinct comes out full force when we have to watch them in so much pain.. I never meant it more when I told my son/SIL that I would trade him places in a heartbeat if I could take his leukemia so that he would be in no pain and be able to live and see his daughter grow up... You may think what if..would I really... and I found out the answer when we knew he was dying... Yes we really would.. So I know Teri that if it was possible you would.. You're a great Mom..

With your chest hurting, that happened to me in Maui, It hurt so bad that I told my Mom that she might have to call 911.. exactly like your describing.. It hurt to sleep, I took a Percocet (usually for my back) and woke up feeling 50% better...
Hope you wake up feeling better too... otherwise please go get it checked..

OMG... That is terrible... I would report that to the head office, as well as to the American Pharmacists Association and your state pharmacists association. That could have been fatal for your child.
A gift card and $10 is a gesture on them hoping you won't report the incident.
I had that happen with my mom and some heart medication.. I reported it to Safeway head office as well as our college of pharmacists in our province (in your case state)

This is not something you should just let them say oops sorry about that...

I'm so glad you double checked and was vigilant about the pills.. Good for you!!

oh great, now someone decides to post the c9 q in hot deals https://slickdeals.net/forums/showthread.php?sduid=191485&t=2128458

L2BAM, I had the same thing happen to me at Rite Aid. They gave me insulin and syringes (I am not diabetic). They also gave me a dose 4 times higher of another med I was taking. It wasn't an issue of just putting someone else's meds in my bag, it actually had my name on it. Then, they gave my DS someone else's meds. I decided they were trying to kill my family, so I now go to a local pharmacy just up the road from my house for all my meds.

L2B - Cold Wow... It is a good thing you are a vigilant mom and not just completely trusting. There are a lot of folks who may not have noticed and/or may not have questioned it if they did - just assuming the pharmacist was 100% correct.

Teri - Comfort I hope you are feeling better this morning. I know how you feel about wishing you could take away your son's pain. Being a mom is never easy, is it??

Ugh for HD... if the q wasn't dead before, it is now. Hey - aren't we not supposed to post pdfs on SD?? Links to them, yeah - but the actual pdf?? Not that it probably matters in HD. Seems they don't care what gets posted over there.

Grrr... hate only having a computer at work right now (virus city, remember?).

Pray ing for .teri. and her DS... that the doctor's deal with this in the manner needed (even if the new surgery with the long name needs to be done)....that .teri.'s stress with this is lessened (easy to say, hard to do, but leave it in God's hands) and that other family members or friends can also help out.

Your breathing issue almost sounds like Pleurisy pains, but hopefully you feel better and got a good night's sleep last night. Hug2 and Comfort to you.

*that's* what I meant to mention earlier... I had that once, and it felt very similar to what you described. It was horrendously painful. If you aren't feeling better today - I'd go get checked. Gotta stay healthy with all your other stuff going on!!

I was kind of thinking pleurisy too. I HATE going to the doctor, especially when DS is in the hospital, but I think I'm going to have to do it.

I feel like I've been run over by a truck this morning. Hurts and I feel like I just want to stay in bed. DXH is over at the hospital, I need to get over there because I know DS is asking for his "mudder" (he still says it that way). He came out of surgery and as they were getting him settled in his room I could hear him asking "where is my mudder?"

Going to call my doc first thing this morning and if they can't see me, I'll just stop in the ER on the way up to DS's room. I hate to have to make an ER co pay though EEK!

Do you have a local clinic in the area? I hate the ER copays too - ridiculous! But there may be an after hours or walk-in clinic you could use.

And that's sweet about your son. Smilie I like when my oldest calls me "mamma" instead of just "mom".

ETA:

Somehow, I am double posting without intending to... GRRR... Guess I need to take a break for now.

Teri~ Are you still working at the hospital? I know you changed jobs, but wasn't sure if your completely out it the hospital now. The reason I ask is bc at my hospital, if your a benefited employee everything done in house is free, even ER co pays. So you could check that out as an option.

Honestly I am surprised that the system is not set up to distinguish that the coupons attached to food items and deducted from that price as such, assuming the coupons attached. For instance, if crackers were bought for $2.00 and a $1.00 off coupon was used which attached, why didn't the register know that only $1 was spent on food vs. thinking $2 was spent on food? Of course if they didn't attach then the register would have no way of knowing whether or not it was a coupon for food or for a non food item. Someone using coupons for food with FS's at Target will spend less of their own $'s for other stuff, but they will spend their FS's faster. Then at the end of the month either they will have to spend real $'s for food, or they will get less food for their family. It wouldn't cost the taxpayers more, since the recipient won't get more food-stamps, but it may very well cost some children who don't get enough food for the month, since their parents are out of FS's (which ended up being applied to non-food items) and they don't have the $'s to spend on food or they unwilling to spend $'s on food.
ummmmm, remember, this is the same company that paid everyone approx $1.60/box to buy kellogg's fiberplus cereal. and there are more than a few people out there who bought some 50 plus boxes of it. just for the sake of buying it. not for eating it. and now they're wondering what to do w/ it.....

why would you think their registers are set up to distinguish between food and non-food like a real supermarket?

huh? huh?

I'm still at the hospital, but I'm not there today because of Joel. If I was there, I would go to employee health. But they don't always treat you unless it's an emergency because I am not a Veteran, and you can only go if you are at work.

I'm waiting for my doc to call me back. He has no openings today or tomorrow, so he'll probably tell me to go to the ER, so since DS is at the hospital anyway I can do some one stop shopping.

DXH just called and said DS is in rare form. He just wants to sleep and he is getting frustrated at everyone coming in and disturbing him. He's taking swings at the nurses now Facepalm It just keeps getting better.
