On the whole Targetting in general thing - I think the biggest key is knowing your store and its rules. I took a LONG time to get to know managers, cashiers, and policies. Sure, I made some messes and boo-boo's along the way - cried and complained to ya'll and DH, etc... I have learned to not argue with them. It is so not worth it for me - partly because I will get too worked up over it, and because I really want to be able to shop without hassles. Now, I have been known to try some logic and say "well, what about XYZ..." - but calmly and never confrontational. If they still refuse me something, I have learned to deal with it. I've gotten much better at having things removed from my transaction or sucking it up and paying for it anyways. (It's not like I don't get awesome enough deals!) I've also learned that if I really can't pay for something out of pocket if it is potentially going to be refused - don't do it. It's not like these q's and clearances/deals haven't been around the block before! I really can't remember a cashier treating me horrible - so either I am extremely blessed in that regard, or somehow they aren't annoyed by me. *shrug*
Of course, I don't think you should put up with abuses or stores that go against policy, but in my experience, it is much easier in the long run if you don't fight with them right there and take the time to talk to management, then corporate if needed. *Most* people are reasonable when talked to away from the moment. When i first started T'ing, my stores did have strict limits on # of mq's and tq's and any q that was a beeper was refused. Now, it's a whole new environment. It took a some time, but it's almost always a calm and easy transaction for me. And when it's not - it's typically my fault!
Now for the other stuff...
I went to T today. Normally, my store is very very liberal in allowing q usage - and I usually try to keep my transactions easy peasey w/out beeps. I picked a new-to-me cashier, and she was sweet. I did 3 pairs of c9 shoes ($6.98) - tq beeped. They took one, but didn't want to take the others because it said "only 1 per identical offer" or something like that... I did take it to CS afterwards and ask if I could use multiples in a transaction, and they said "sure". So I told them that it didn't take, and I did my first ever missed q's. *shrug* Worked fine that way. I think if I use it in the future, I will just do 1 at a time. 1 K1 is easy to do - more than that and I think I'm asking for issues if it's a newbie cashier. I think the other stuff will die down eventually - like someone else mentioned. Just stinks that it's bonkers right now - cuz we all know it'll be that way soon again with the holidays!
I also had 4 ziplocs. I got 2 of the sandwich bags packs and 2 of the gallon storage bags. I am unsure how to tell which is which on my receipt. They were both shelf-signed at 2.69, but one of them rang up 2.33 and the other at 2.69. *sigh* The ziploc TQ attached to 1 of the kinds, but not the other - it beeped and was K1'd. I did get the bonus 20% sandwich bags, so maybe that was the problem. I don't know.
Summer seasonal was signed at 30%, but rang up 50%! I found a horseshoe game for $9.99. - dpci 091160130, and a pack of 12 ct. cookie cutters for $1.49 (flowers and hearts, maybe something else - got it for DD to play with playdoh) - dpci 070060372. I wanted more clearance, but only have so much $$ to spend. *sigh* No additional baby clearance either.
I actually picked up some cereal today. The blueberry mini-wheats were being subbed for Pops, so I grabbed those (movie ticket promo or something on the box), and I got some special K @2.39 - I had mq's and the 1.50/3 tq's and the b4g1 made for a super cheap deal since I like the special K cereal and am not on the low carb diet! I also had the 1.50/2 Kellogg's Tcat for the mini-wheats. I did not get a new 1.50/2 Kellogg's Tcat though. I was disappointed in that because I would've liked to get some frosted flakes or more mini-wheats. *shrug*
I got some groceries - meat, lettuce, nothing fancy or exciting. Some markdowns on meats, but not great. I grabbed some cheese too, and just noticed it didn't ring up correctly. It rang up .15 higher. Isn't it pitiful when you get annoyed at that!
I am needing some meat/produce deals! I'm running out of grocery $$ with this low carb diet that DH and DD are doing. They are eating quite a bit. It's making me nervous, and I actually felt a bit guilty for getting the horseshoes and cookie cutters because I keep thinking that maybe I should spend it on food.
I think that couponing is a very strange little job/animal. It is difficult to not be greedy sometimes. I think most of us have struggled with it at some point.
35 weeks tomorrow - AM appt. I think it's an actual "exam".

C9 worked beeplessly on the mens underwear, but beeped on womens. So it seems perhaps its coded for mens socks and underwear? Has anyone reported it working on mens clothes, like shirts or shorts?

Merona coupon beeped on hobo bag today as well. It was pushed through.
I will keep trying the coupon until my store posts a sign. I will only do one per transaction though if they keep beeping. Found a ton of c9 shoes tonight.. Alot of shoes were marked down today, but the converse are still holding at 30-50%.

I know some people get bothered by someone getting 10 items at once. I agree with Flugette and Setsail (I think it was).. ten items isn't a big deal to me really. I have used 10 of the same TQ before on sobe, fiber plus, and 5 or 6 of the colgate each trip.. I don't think that puts me on the radar so to speak.. Now, if everything beeps, that may be a different story. It could be that the OP in deals didn't realize all of the c9 coupons would beep. That is kinda what happened to me last night.. I had read that morning it was beep free. used 6 last night and they all beeped.. They were pushed through, but I was surprised with the beeps. Tonight, I decided to just use one. It was no problem.

I just saw on the news that supposedly the oil is no longer leaking for the first time since this all started.. Guess we will see.. MY friends are in Panama City this week and claim the water there is beautiful.. I wonder what may be there that can't be seen though?

I HATE HATE this. DD crying, DXH crying, Grandma crying. I just want it to be over. Feels like so many years ago when he was a baby and we didn't know from one minute to the next how long we would have him with us. Sorry if this is depressing. Guess I'm kinda using SD as a blog or something. I just have to stay strong for him and for DD (and everyone else it would seem). I need to vent. So I'm venting here. I'm afraid for him.

If the post was so bad, so abusive of Target practices that it outrages you, that should be taken to pm as well. For goodness sake, don't keep replying to the same post, which just keeps it fresh in people's minds.
Making a new catch phrase for Target asshattery based on one person's post, that seems a little like a personal attack imo. That person was wrong but what is the point of beating them continuously? Instead it gives smash and grabbers more ideas.

I think that you crying may be a good thing, cry here with all of your Tcc'er friends.. or when my DS was so sick and I was in the hospital - the bathroom was my best friend many a times for my crying.. talk to the TP, the wall and yourself.. but let some of it out.

Anything that helps is just fine by me, and I'm sure everyone else here wishes we could do more than just listen and pray. I can't imagine how awful this is for everyone in your family but I know that Mamas do get it the worst. Its your baby and you can't make the pain go away. The helplessness can drive you insane. If venting makes that better, post pages and pages if you'd like.
Hopefully someday soon you will have something wonderful to post that we can all celebrate together.

Yes, they did a stupid thing. Well, 2 actually, buying the 40 shirts and then posting it in the deals thread.
But, hopefully they learned, albeit it the hard way, how to coupon more wisely. Personally, I think they still believe what they did was A-ok and will continue on until Target has a bullseye plastered on MEB's ass.
Regardless, Meb is not the worst offender, just the dumbest (lately) and is also not the sole reason this TQ is being shut down. Rise above and let the chaff fall.
