Hi Meesh!!!!!! Good to see you! What fun - gem hunting? I bet the kiddos had a BLAST!!!! That sounds great! Can't wait to hear more about your adventures!

Nik - I am so glad that you have some coolness now even if not super cold! It is amazing how much better 80 feels than 90 or 100 (even though 80 is WARM!) I wish the landlord would put in an a/c for you ... but hey I am all for you putting hose in and using it if it works and the landlord isn't doing something! Stay safe & cool!!!! HUGS

Alright - it is 2:15 and I have to get up at 5:30a ... why am I not asleep???

DS went into surgery shortly before 10:00. I don't think they actually got started until 10:30 or so. He took a turn for the worse and got extremely sick and they rushed him in. They are doing the ventriculostomy.. We wont know if it works for a couple of days. They really couldn't give us a percentage of successful surgeries because they said not enough studies have been done.

I HATE HATE this. DD crying, DXH crying, Grandma crying. I just want it to be over. Feels like so many years ago when he was a baby and we didn't know from one minute to the next how long we would have him with us. Sorry if this is depressing. Guess I'm kinda using SD as a blog or something. I just have to stay strong for him and for DD (and everyone else it would seem). I need to vent. So I'm venting here. I'm afraid for him.
Words cannot even express what you must be going through; prayers and support for DS and for the entire family.

Being afraid means you're a good mom. Vent away. We will listen and pray with you because we are your friends.

Comfort I hope the night has passed well for you all.

I have never found it possible to sleep in a hospital room. Doze a bit, maybe, but I"m always exhausted after coming home. I never understood why someone would want to stay in the hospital, but when I had my last DD everyone couldn't believe I was trying to get out of there the first moment they would let me go!

Today is the dawning of a new day. WW, happy kids, and cool days to you all!

ETA:

Speaking of hospitals - we got the final bill for all the hospital charges from DH's ER visit a few days ago - original charges were over $15,000 (and that's ONLY the hospital - not labs/docs)! Our portion came to $811 after insurance. I contacted the hospital in hopes that they'd take a lesser payment and the best they said was that they'd take off 10%. Now, if we ignored them for 6 months and went into collections, they'd take about half of that - but since we actually want to pay the bill now, they won't deal any cheaper. *sigh* Seems silly. But, I guess 10% is better than nothing. Just means all our emergency fund is *poof*.

I hope the doctor is a little more reasonable with his bill!! The labs were no big deal. Pre-insurance they were over 1K, but after they are $38 total - so that's a bit easier to stomach. I forget what doc's original fee was, but our portion works out to $550. It's just amazing how much money 24 hours can cost you!

I need the "deal cycle" to shift. I have more than enough razors and mens bodywash. laugh out loud But I'm on my last bodywash for me and we're dangerously low on tissue and toothpaste. I remember last year when I moved in May I gave away ten tubes because I didn't want to move them.

Thanks for the info.. The c9 beeped on everything for me including the mens socks. The ones I got are black crew socks that are 6.99? which ones did you find for 4.98?
Stupid coupon. How hard would it be to code the things.. interestingly the 2.50 c9 coupon that says "not valid on socks" attached to my mens socks and didn't beeplaugh out loud I was trying to use the 5.00 on socks and the 2.50 on a pair of shoes for my DD.

Had a nice dinner with my DH tonight... date night Thursday Smilie I signed up to work a little OT tomorrow morning and now he tells me he took the day off Frown Guess he can sleep in while I work.. I think we are gonna try to go see a movie alone.. any suggestions of something good??
The mens socks I got were ankle socks. Not the low-cut, just ankle. And the underwear is the single packs of boxer briefs. I believe they start at 8.99 (!) for one pair and go up from there. But hubby swears by them, so I'm slowly building his collection.

Glad to hear the surgery went well! And like others said, vent away!! We all have at one point or another. nod

Has anyone tried the Men's Duo Dry Golf Polos? Fit, quality, actually keep sweat away?

Was just pursuing the champion site, i know the c9 stuff is a bit different but I wish my store had a much bigger men's section.
I haven't tried them, but they certainly look sharp. Have thought about getting one or two for my hubby, if they ever go on sale.

Have you done the Colgate MaxWhite deal at T yet? Four tubes of toothpaste for free/MM after the gc.

And someone posted scenarios for the Olay BW that gets you the $10 rebate. I'm definitely going to try a couple of those. For once I have all the coupons in hand! bounce Recycling dumpsters are a wonderful thing... Big Grin

The Colgate deal is only at one of my local T's so far and they are wiped out already. It looks like its free afer RR at Wags next week so I might go there instead.

I don't know if I have enough Olay Q's to sucessfully do the Olay either. I really need to weed out my expired Q's and clean out my organizer.

We had one a little more than 2 weeks ago here. I didn't notice it either. From the time they said I must have been in the car driving.

ds still doing good this morning. The test will be how he is doing tonight. Cerebral fluid replentishes itself three or 4 times a day. If the new procedure is working, he'll be ok. If not, he'll go back into the violently ill stage. Keeping fingers crossed here today Pray

As if this year week hasn't been crazy enough. This morning I turn on the news and see my co-worker was arrested for an 18 year old cold case murder yesterday EEK! ummm, little bit in shock over that one. Is anything normal anymore?

OMG on the coworker, that is freaky!!

Glad to hear you ds is doing better and hope things continue in that direction!

Dia, Prayers for your DD today!

Today is window day for us! A little nervous, but at least it's better than my dh trying to do it on his ownTeehee Can't wait to reap the benefits of the energy efficiency though - it has to be better than with the old ones, which frosted over completely (on the inside) during the winter!

I used the C9 coupons last night on two packs of women's $6 socks and beep beep, and on two $16.99 sports Bras and beep beep. The cashier did k1, but it sucks when your good cashier is looking puzzled and scrolling up the receipt to make sure you bought them. Thanks to those who used them on little value items and 40 at a time, as I have seen posted.

The clearance C9 stuff must be wiped out in my store, I will check others today, but the stores I went to only had clearance stuff that was $8.99 plus and it was nothing special.

Warning which many probably know, but it surprised me. Make sure with the new updates you give your higher $ value coupons in the family first, or your lower value ones attach to the wrong higher value items, then the higher value coupons adjust down to the price of the lower value items. At least before if you did this, the higher value coupons just beeped and got the k1 since you had the items.

Case in point I was using $5 off power sprayer coupons, along with $2 off Scrubbing bubbles cans coupons. I gave the $2 off coupons first and they went though fine, but then my $5 off SB power sprayer MQ's adjusted down to $2.49 the price of the SB cans. Since I had 4 of these coupons that was a $10 loss. It was hard to fix at CS, the register would only take one of the $5 off coupons later for full value (kept saying coupon already used when he tried to use more), so the kid just gave me back 2 of the $5 off coupons for later use (for some reason after going to the cashiers register twice he couldn't find the 4th coupon) and I just returned a few of the power sprayers.

So I made sure to give the $5 off SB coupons first at the next Target, and they deducted fine, as did my $2 off coupons given later.

Personally I thought that was a racket for Target if I hadn't noticed, since they would have turned in my 4 coupons for $20, when they only gave me $10 credit. I have read that others Schick razor coupons are adjusting down as well. I don't understand how Target can have registers that mark down MQ's while they take them and turn them in for full credit. Now that is coupon fraud. I can understand if they want to mark down a coupon if your item is less than coupon value, but at least they would make that change on the coupon in the past. Whether the value really got changed at the clearing house is unknown, but at least they tried. However, marking down coupons when your items are more than the coupon, due to a computer glitch is wrong, especially when we know good well and ready they will get full redemption value.

Same thing happened to me with some Scrubbing Bubbles coupons.

Found out a new Walgreens opened up about 15 mins away and I have a ton of $3/$10 Qs to use. Gotta figure out some scenarios. I know this isn't the best week for them, but if nothing else, I can get some cheap school supplies.
Check the dates on the q - I'm pretty sure they run for 2-3 weeks (they did at mine) it won't be in the ad the next week but they are still valid and next weeks deals will be better than this week's misery.

Shocking OMW! It wasn't for killing a co-worker or anything was it? LOL Jawdrop

On a non-joking note, I'll be so happy to hear that the surgery was indeed marked a success and no further will be needed. Ariel had told me that your son was needing it when I was talking to her about my classmate whose son had been born with water on the brain (while we were in JHS) and recently, at age 20 - he died in his sleep. They hadn't realized his headaches were due to the shunt closing up and he just went to sleep and woke up with Jesus. Very very sad. So, I'm glad you take such good care of your boy b/c you never know what could've happened. Hug2
