Teri, glad to read that your son will be going home soon.

Dia, hope you are feeling better.

I saw this article on Yahoo this morning about "8 reasons why you shouldn't use coupons". Pffft to them.

Actually, I haven't got any news, I'm just hopeful laugh out loud (and I do believe in the power of positive thoughts and prayers, and I thank you all hug) As long as he is alert today and doesn't have any seizures I don't see why he would have to stay. I'm so tired of the hospital, and so is he. He's still weak on his rht side, but the paralysis is gone. The docs should be in at some point today. I finally got to come home for awhile this morning to grab a shower and change of clothes, etc etc. DXH is down there now.

I'm so tired, I feel like the Life Alert lady. Help, I've sat down, and I can't get up Roll

laugh out loud What a pointless article.
Clearly they haven't seen me diving in the recycling bins in town.
And none of the reasons were really convincing.

thanks for that link setsail.... best laugh of the day right there Coverlaugh

I KNEW she was going to be single before I even read the whole article LMAO Then I found her author page Evil "In her free time, Amy enjoys traveling, reading with her cats, long bike rides, and trying new restaurants."

Whole article sounds like she's bitter she can't figure out coupons... but that won't stop me from printing out many copies and passing it along to people who bug me to help them coupon when I know they won't get it Roll

Author of that article sounds like she's got a severe case of sour grapes to me. Didn't do her research very well.

Very good to hear Teri!!

Summer stuff was finally 75% here, got most of what I wanted. There are tons of infant/toddler clothes sitting at 50% here....wishing they would go down too. I need to get started on DD's wardrobe for next yearWink

Anybody else here addicted to Scentsy?? I just got my first scentsy warmer as a gift and I looooooove it! Blueberry cheesecake, mmmmmmm, love walking into my house and it smells like I baked except I didn't have to bake Teehee Found a seller at our local farmer's market that sells decent knock-off Scentsy bricks for $2. This is more in my price rangeBig Grin

hey frequent flyers, can you still pack dry snacks for your kids' carry-ons for the plane? of course I'm thinking 100 calorie packs, etc. anyone?!?!
you can bring pretty much anything except drinks. my in-laws have brought cooked chicken legs and containers of grape tomatoes but they ended up eating it at the gate while waiting to board.

since airlines usually don't include food anymore and what they sell is limited and unappetizing, if the timing is right, i've gone to a supermarket b4 the airport and bought sushi, pastries, full-size bags of potato chips, sandwiches, etc and taken it on the plane when flying home. they usually only have turkey sandwiches on the plane and turkey is my least favorite. i also bring plastic take-out containers of prewashed and cut up fruit like grapes, cantaloupe, etc and whole fruit like peaches, etc, whatever fruit i need to eat up in the fridge. veggies i give to my neighbor.

last time i went to london i brought back 5 full-sized bags of potato chips of flavors they don't sell here in my carry-on. at the time i think the most popular flavor was thai sweet chili. they don't sell ketchup flavor there anymore and it's hard to find roast beef and pickle flavored. lays invaded and now same old stuff you find hereMad.

i always bring emergency food on the plane now (ex. soyjoyWink) b/c one time we were flying coast to coast and got diverted to rochester, ny and they ran out of the very limited sandwiches they sold and even water. they said they would have sandwiches at rochester but instead somebody had run to sams club and they passed out tiny quaker granola bars and bottled water. luckily i had some snacks but i was still starving when i got off the plane 9hrs later. i can't believe nobody caused a scene complaining about them starving us. i think everybody was so exhausted and tired they just wanted to go home.

i would always recommend to bring things like meal replacement bars in emergency b/c you never know.

teri, sorry that your ds joel is having such serious medical problems and hoping he will turn around and get better soonComfort.

Teri - I am so sorry to hear about DS. Please let me know if I can do anything for you. hug Comfort

Not going to do the guessing game... couldn't get me to touch a due date with a 5 foot pole! laugh out loud

If anyone has done/tried to do a missed Q at T since the updates rolled in, could you please PM me about your experience? It's not good here Annoyed
I did a missed coupon yesterday, within 10 minutes of the transaction because I forgot to give the cashier my C9 coupons. Guest services took all 4, and within 30 seconds had my money ready.

I tried to do a missed coupon last week at a store closer to me and was told that they can only do one at a time now. I think that's a store choice, not register programming. Wink Sorry you had a bad experience.

The Yahoo article- I wonder how much per word she was paid for that piece. My first thought was that she must have been stuck in line behind one of those so called "extreme couponers". Maybe she should have taken her few items to the express lane. Big Grin

Do you mind sharing if it was a particular coupon that was an issue, or if you would pm me that would be great. Embarrassment

I say that because in the past, both before these ridiculous updates and after, I tried to do a missed coupon on a bogo TQ. First was the B3G1 Kraft mac n cheese TQ, in early May? I had bought 4 packs just the day before and no matter what customer service tried, they could not do a missed TQ for that. I was a little peeved because the 4- 4 packs and a toy were the only items I bought on that transaction, no coupons at all used. Last week I bought 3 more sets of the Kellogg's cereal than I had TQ for. Tried to do one missed TQ for the bogo Fiber Plus, even getting back $2.66 would have been nice. Again, register programming couldn't do it (according to the guest services person).

Knowing that you can get ice cream for $2.50 might make it difficult for you to spend $4 on it even though many times, it would be worth it to spend the extra $1.50 rather than pine for ice cream and cast longing glances at your freezer every night for three weeks until your next coupon arrives. You might also find yourself making more trips to the grocery store in order to purchase things only when you have coupons for them.
Uh, yea dumbass, that's why you get 10 at a time. Guess then you have to get a freezer just for ice cream but Target practically gives those away.

if you have to hunt up and down the aisles in search of the item you have a coupon for, you'll spend more time at the store.
Is there something wrong with spending time in a store? God help me, I hate walmart. I HATE THAT PLACE. But I can't go in there for a bottle of dishsoap without spending 45 minutes in SCO.

Bottom line, coupons can make you money. Whoever wrote this article is a moron.
