Schrakat, glad your tests came back ok. Those call backs are the scariest.

Another insanely hot day today. I've given up any hope of a normal summer this year, seeing as though it's almost August anyway. I'm really hoping we don't get any hurricanes this year, all this hot weather has me worried about that.

I think the waters are extra warm and have the sealife annoyed as well. We've had some shark bites at the beach lately, and tons and tons of jelly fish..so no trips to the beach to escape the heat.

I guess I'm going to hit up a Target sometime this weekend and do some q shopping. Gotta figure out whats what first though. I'm really behind.

Im in on the weight loss challenge. Need to loose 30+ pounds.
I started this back in January when the A$$ ex moved out (okay, almost ex but I am just done with this freaking marriage)... as of this morning, I have lost 60lbs!!! I am beyond thrilled! I have gone from a size 22/24 down to a 12!! I cant remember the last time I wore a size 12!!

But the biggest difference is in every day life.. not just #s and clothing sizes.. I went to see Tim McGraw and Lady Antebellum 2 weeks ago.. there were about 75-100 stairs UP a steep incline... I did it all without getting out of breath, which used to be a hard task... OR going to the gym and being able to jog a solid mile without having to stop and walk! When I started, it took me 18min to go a mile.. I am down to 10!! That feels DAMN good Smilie

Thank you so much. Yes, they are scary, and for some reason these people (Doctors) that call you always call at 4:59, and leave a message on your answering machine, and leave this message like..."We need to reach you right away, so call us". Then, you call 3 minutes later, and the office is closed. grrrr

I was extra worried this time going back for more tests, since they did that to me last year too. But, when they called this time, they made it sound like there were some significant changes, so I was really worried. But, that wasn't the case at all. FORTUNATELY.

So.... Papa was here to help me celebrate tonight! Big Grin

Thanks again hug

That is beyond awesome! Good for you. I lost 65 lbs after DS was born and now I have another 20 to lose until I'm back down after having DD. Weight loss is sooooooooo hard.

Don't forget that Papa expires tomorrow but you can schedule a pick up 3 weeks out. I reserved 4 today for the next few weeks so Papa can finish off the summer with us!

Anybody know when the TPC on Bagel Bites ends?? I forgot to check this morning, just got my mq's yesterday - went back out this AM to use some. Hoping it doesn't end tomorrow or something as I wasn't planning on a trip to T. May have to make one anyway.

Wave

Had a late late dinner. DH grilled some chicken - turned out great. I made a rub for the chicken and it was sooo yummy. It had garlic, salt, pepper, paprika, cinnamon, and allspice. Rubbed it under and on top of the skin - mmmmm. Then, I made some crispy kale - take the stems out, break into pieces, toss with some olive oil spread on a cookie sheet & sprinkle with salt then bake at 300 for around 20 minutes. Next best thing to popcorn. Big Grin

My legs are killing me tonight and it's making me soooo cranky. DH said it's gonna rain tomorrow, so I may run out in the am before the baby shower I'm supposed to go to. I have some massive Krogering to do!

I have a taste for grape bubble yum. Very annoyingly weird...

UGH... DH and DD are watching X-files. I have an irrational thing about aliens. *sigh* I may not be sleeping much tonight. Too darn bad it's dark out - I'd go shopping. Frown

Maybe I should go to bed...

Maybe...

I am so tired. I hit up four stores for toy clearance, spent about 600.00 and now I have to figure out how to get it all home. Ugh. Soooo excited though.

I realized that night of my first toy run I paid 19.99 for a doll. Then yesterday my friend grabbed the same doll from the clearance aisle. I wonder how many ppl paid for it not realizing it wasn't on clearance. lol

I never saw the Leapster stuff or the TAG stuff marked down at the stores I went to. (books yes, systems no)
I checked every Target I've been to and didn't find any Tag readers clearance. They must have been at some because at a few stores, all were gone. Or all of one color were gone. Oh well.

dreem, I was thinking of you today. Went to a ST here and found 5 C9 items clearance- shoes for $6.98, two pairs of capris for $6.98 and two camis for $4.74. Cashier asked the team lead, who then looked at me and said coupons aren't allowed on clearance items. I asked if she was sure and she said yes, for me she was making the policy that I couldn't use a coupon on a clearance item.

Of course I asked to see this in writing and was told that she didn't have it and didn't have to share that info anyway. Fine, I went to customer service and asked for clarification. The team member read the coupon and then told me that since it states not all items are available in all stores, the coupon wasn't valid to be used in their store. LMAO I laughed all the way to the car, all the while calling corporate to express my concern about how their stores are handling this C9 promotion. The corporate rep said that she had heard other staff talking about people having issues with the C9 coupon, said something about it being escalated to have someone in programming look into it. Sure sure I believe that. But we all need to make sure we are letting corp know how we are being treated.

Does anyone happen to have an extra Vsmile pocket? I went to a store that supposedly had 3, they had none. Another store in my area *might* have one but it wasn't worth driving 50 miles.

That is so awesome!!! You should be so proud of yourself!!!

I have done really good today as far as eating! However, I can usually go about 3 or 4 days and then I totally mess up for the next few days.
This time I really need to stay on track!!!
So far it looks like The Ghost and Mama2Cole are up for the weight loss challege. How have you girls done today with your eating? I think its great that we all need to lose about the same amount of weight. Let' s do it!!

Aww, X-Files is great! I named my first DD after Mulder's missing sister. laugh out loud

I did a quick 75% run (with DH in tow so I didn't score as much as I wanted to!) but found some neat markdowns. Pic attached...loved the Road Ripper truck for $3.74 (still said $10).

Packing up and heading home tomorrow with my toy loot. Having to leave behind some toys with a friend because it won't fit in my car. Frown Will pick them up next week.

.teri. how is your son?

meg, that's awesome! I was the same size as you and I've now lost around or over 40 lbs. It's weird because weight wise I don't seem to be losing nearly as fast as inches. I've moved down 2 bust sizes (from a 42 to a 38), from a size 22 pants to a 14 or 16 depending on brand, down from a 2x shirt to a L or more often an XL due to the boobages.

Not too great I have to admit

Breakfast:
1 bowl of apple jacks
Snack
1/2 bag popcorn
Lunch
1 Slimfast Drink
Snack
1 Slimfast Bar
Dinner
2 slices of toast with tuna salad and Pepperjack Velveeta
1 slice of Key Lime Pie

Could have forgiven myself the high calorie Velveeta if it weren't for the popcorn & key lime pie. But boy was that pie yummy on a hot night.

Meg - I was around a 24/26 about 4 years ago. Made it down to a tight 12 and have creeped up to a 16 again. Determined to knock that weight off again. There is no way I want to feel the way I did before. Sore back, knees, hips, hot out of breath, on & on.

Thanks so much for your words of comfort. hug I feel bad now whinning about a neck dissection when you've had brain surgery. Frown I'm sorry to hear that and hope you are well now. I did the same thing, goggling pictures of neck dissection surgery and it scared the heck out of me. My body doesn't scar well though Frown I have a keloid scar from a c-section and a smaller one on my neck... so I know this one will be bad since it will go from my ear all across my neck. I also don't recover well from anesthesia and nothing they gave me helped... I spent most of the night throwing up, trying to throw up (which is the worse feeling when your chest is all tight and unable to breathe), and so dizzy. I think other then the scar, what scares me is surgery itself. It's a lot of trust you have to put into other people knowing you will be unconscious and operated on. I guess that is another thing that puts me into panic-mode, the vulnerability of being operated on while knocked out. I am trying my best to reason with myself, I guess it's a good thing I have until the end of August to get used to it. How did you calm yourself down to prepare for surgery?

thank you again... heart

Quote from ArielA :
Ella~ oh hun! hug You don't sound stupid or vain. I know how you feel. You would be surprised at how well some scars are hidden though. When I had to have brain surgery and I found out they were going to have to partially shave my head, I was sooo upset. I even went online and looked at pics thinking if I knew exactly what to expect, I could plan better. EEK! big mistake! My dh told me I was over reacting, that I would be alive and that is all that mattered. Roll Eyes (Sarcastic) I mean I know he was right, but it was still an adjustment. Then it turned out that they didn't even have to shave as much hair as I first thought (the pics online were way worse). Also, even though my scar extends beyond my hairline, its hard to tell its there. You have to get really close to see it and its on my forehead and in front of my R ear. Just ask the TCCers that met up in Chicago this year. We were playing with my hair and I bet if I hadn't shown them where the scar was, they wouldn't have known.
The time after the surgery will be an adjustment. I felt I had to hid my scalp and scar with a scarf when I went out in public. Then it got to a point where I didn't care. My head felt better without anything being on it and that was better for me. Some ppl here have even seen pics of me right after the surgery. I thought I looked horrible, head half shaven, frankenstien staples and brised all over, but they helped me and cared no matter what.
We will be here for you and will care no matter what! Hug2 heart Blowkiss

ella....hug

breathe. Everytime you start to get in panic mode, take a few really deep breaths until you can relax. I'm so sorry you are going through this, and that you have to wait so long. Too much time to worry. The best thing I can think of is to stay busy, and stop googling!!!!!! Call your doctor and tell him how you are feeling, maybe he can give you something for your nerves.

Now that you know how you react to anesthia, when you do your pre-surgery appointments make sure to tell them. They can give you something to help keep you from getting so sick afterwards.
