I've been looking at Target and no Frown

I haven't looked at other stores, maybe some one else knows something.

I did find a Toy Story 3D slipnslide on clearance for $10 yesterday. I wish the little pools were on clearance, maybe soon.

Nope, I haven't seen one either. We gave in and bought DD one about 6 weeks ago and DH paid way too much. I am hoping to find a clearance one and put it up for next year.

I am worn out. Worked an extra shift today.. I am trying to pick up extra time to pay for all these extra expenses.. But, we have been so busy the last few weeks, and I come home exhausted. My DD begged me not to go, but I had already signed up.. She was fine with her older brother/sister all day, but was so happy to see me get home. Looking forward to spending all day at home tomorrow.. I need some snuggle time with my princess..

Dreamed last night I was pregnant.. actually had a vivid dream about the deliveryRoll Eyes (Sarcastic) If I weren't "fixed", I would say it was a sign.. I think it has something to do with reading Ank talk about childbirth and being ready.. Can't wait to see pics of little Mavisbounce

Well, I am off to bed.. Have a great night everyone!!

And Comfort I remember the days of having to leave my little one and go to work. It was always so stressful for me. I hope you get lots and lots of snuggle time.

I wanted to do a bunch of shopping today, but DH pretty much told me not to do so. He said the heat index is way to high. Yesterday they had a police dog out looking for a burglar and it died. EEK! He basically wants me to go to my doc appt. & then back home. Sadwalk Ah well... better safe than sorry, that's for sure.

I'm making paprikash for dinner tonight. MMM... can't wait.

I believe it's just another word for paprika?

ETA: From wisegeek.com

Paprikash is a dish prepared with paprika and sour cream -- it is most typically made with chicken, although turkey and vegetarian versions are also quite good. Serve paprikash over buttered noodles.

I've seen Dia on FB a tiny bit, but not much on the boards. I haven't heard from her much. I think she's just hanging in there.

Paprikash is SUPER easy to make... Boil the heck out of a bunch of chicken in a big stock pot - scoop out the chicken and set aside - reserve broth... sautee up a bunch of onions/peppers (add salt & pepper as you wish and add generous amounts of paprika - Hungarian is best if you have it, but really any kind is great)... pull chicken from the bone (or chop up if you did breasts) and combine with the onions/peppers. I usually make this a few hours ahead and put the chicken and onions/peppers in a crock pot. I also add some of the broth from the boiled chicken to it to keep it nice and moist.

Now, with the broth you can reserve some of it for your own chicken stock (if you do like me and really use a huge stock pot and 10 lbs of chicken at a time!), and then save some of it for either boiling noodles (which we rarely do cuz who can resist dumplings???) or dumplings in. The dumplings we do are very simple. You take 3 cups of flour, 3 eggs, 1 tbsp of salt, and enough water (I like to use sour milk or buttermilk actually) to combine into a sticky dough. Now - that's DH's family recipe for the dumplings. *I* add more paprika and sometimes some spices (rosemary, thyme, tiny bit of dill to them - if I do that to the dumplings, I also add the same spices to the onion/pepper mix while cooking because I think it enhances the flavor.) DH says my little additions make the paprikash even better (but don't tell his mom... *laugh*) But it may not be something everyone else likes. You would bring the broth to a boil and then drop spoonfuls of the dumplings into it. When they float, give them another minute or so and they should be done. You can drain or scoop them out, then combine with the chicken/onion/pepper mix. Serve with a dollop of sour cream.

These particular dumplings are thick and dense. I have rolled them out before and cut into smaller bits, but that takes more time... lol. You could also use a bisquick type dumpling - and they tend to be a bit fluffier and lighter. DH doesn't like those kind, though, so I don't do that.

Oh - you could add things like carrots to the dish, but it makes it a bit sweet for my taste.

Yeah, I would definitely say dumplins are not on plan..I usually have whatever meat I fix the family, and just have a large salad with mine instead of whatever sides they have.

For some strange reason, I had actually gained 1.5 pounds todayFrown I *think* it may just be from not drinking enough water.. But who knows, my metabolism is so slow (thanks hypothyroidism).. I have not actually cheated.. not one bite of sugar in over 2 months.. but haven't been quite as diligent with keeping up with what I have eaten. And I also think I may have not been eating enough. I have worked alot lately and gotten busy and not eaten for awhile. When I lost over 100 pounds 6 years ago, I had to make myself eat several times a day.. The frequent small meal thing really worked best for me.

I need to get motivated to exercise.. It is so hot, I don't want to do anything. It is just so draining. I have the most sympathy for those who must work outside in this kind of weather..

So so hot today. I am desperately looking for sandals for my 19mo and keep coming up short. Apparently they don't make walking shoes in size 4. And if they do, they are *very* hard to find. Eva's feet are tiny (she is at least 2 sizes behind other little ones her age) and she just happened to outgrow her cute white sandals seemingly overnight this past week. And now we have just over a month or so left of sandal weather, and I can't find a darn sandal ANYWHERE. Wandered all over the outlet mall this morning, couldn't find a thing. Smallest size in sandals seems to be 5. The pair she had, which was a size 3, we had bought at the Stride Rite store in the mall, and I could never find another pair at any other store to supplement. So poor kid has been stuck with that one pair of sandals since April/May. laugh out loud Not that she notices or anything. I hate to make her wear socks and closed-toe shoes, esp. in this heat. Heat index of 105.

Anyway, that's my sob story of the day.

So ... did you all know you can get a $10 gift certificate from Kohls with any purchase today? Ends today. And you can use the $10 starting tomorrow. Or maybe its just a VA thing, since its in honor of tax-free shopping weekend. Anyway, worth checking out. I plan on making the rounds, picking up cheapo clearance stuff to get the $10 certs. Big Grin Dare I venture in to the Kohls thread to see what might be a good find, or can anyone here give a clue as to what current clearance deals are?

I just have way too many deals at way too many stores this week. My head is going to explode, I think. Giant, HT, Rite Aid, and now Kohls. And I've given up attempting to plan a trip to Wags and CVS because I just do not have the time.
