So ... my week at VBS is over. Average of 24 kids every day, most of them boys. For the most part, they were fairly well-behaved. I thoroughly enjoyed the week, even though it took the weekend for me to recover. laugh out loud

Two weeks until my oldest starts kindergarten. Faint He has his new shoes, several new shirts, new socks, but no backpack, and no uniform pants. Guess I better get crackin!!

OK, off to straighten up my house and sort out coupons for a run or two to HT and Rite Aid, maybe even a Target thrown in there!

Wave

Nuffin...

MOT2 - I hope you are feeling better!

Dreemedayzee - any sippy is awesome - though I do tend to prefer the hard spout lids.

Gonna go work on some laundry and try to be patient. I guess it's not terribly abnormal to go up to 42 weeks - not that I'm hoping for that, but if I do. *sigh* I guess that's the way it goes, eh? DH has asked if we should consider inducing, but I'm thinking that maybe if she doesn't come out after all we've been through already, then maybe there's a reason - right?? As long as there's no medical reason to get her out sooner, I'm not sure we should induce. I dunno... I guess that's my thoughts on it for now! I should be happy cuz I'm well blessed with a decent pregnancy and healthy baby to this point, so I just need patience!

Ugh... My ears are bugging me big time, I think it's allergies going crazy - and our dog is driving me batty.

On top of that, my darling toddler is testing every ounce of my patience this morning. Her main issue this morning is that she wants PB&J, pretzels (which we don't even have in the house!) and a sucker. She refuses to eat her pancakes and eggs. UGH!!! Funny how that was always a treat when I was growing up (we mainly ate oatmeal), so I make it thinking "oh, this will be a nice change..." And if she's not complaining about breakfast, she's chasing the dog and screeching. Oy... not good for my nerves right now!!! It's too stupid hot to take her out already. I am soooo going to have to find a way to keep her busy and me from Stress

DH spent most of the night being up and said he had a lot of insomnia, so he's in bed this morning. I think that is also not helping my mood! UGH. I hate being overly grouchy and feeling like this.

My dog died yesterday while I was in SA. DH didn't tell me because he didn't want to upset me on my drive home. At first I kinda blew it off. Knee-jerk reaction. Figured it was better for the moment. ...... All night I've thought about her and how once we had kids life sort of took over. I can't remember the last time I patted her head or gave her kisses. Now it's too late.

How many more too late's will I have in this lifetime?
hug I am so sorry to hear about your doggie. We lost ours last year, and it was heart wrenching. We thought we would never get another dog, because it was such tremendous sadness at losing him. But, about 3 months passed and someone told us we would be perfect to help out the local Boxer rescue, and into our house came a big lug named "Sully", who definitely made us feel better, and he is living with us now, and spoiled wrotten. Trust me when I say, the sadness will pass, and it was wonderful you were able to give her a good home for as long as she was with you.

I think something is in the air with the "ear pain". I woke up yesterday with ear pain, and turns out to be an infection. I am not too fond of that feeling that someone is in there with an ice pick. Mad I sure hope your ear pain goes away quickly!

I need some advice. My four 1/2 year old daughter started VPK last week at the same school she has been going to for 2 years of preschool. They called me on Friday saying she had been crying uncontrollably for 40 minutes. They said she was drawing and just burst into tears. She wouldn't tell them what was wrong. They said she only said she missed me. This is the same kid that couldn't wait to go to school last year. She has always been so fiercely independent so I don't understand why the big change. It happened at the gym too a few weeks ago. They had to come get me because she was crying so hard that she wanted me. So this morning at 8:30 she starts crying uncontrollably while she is watching TV and tells me she doesn't want to go to school. But when I ask her why or try to talk to her she doesn't tell me anything?? She just says, "I just cry there" She was still crying when I left her at 9 am. I have called the pediatrician and waiting to hear back. I am just at a loss, everyone says it is a phase. I just don't know how to handle it. Anyone else ever experience this? I remember reading something about the "half" ages being difficult and she is almost exactly 4 1/2.

hug Half ages are really hard. Is it possible that she is overtired from all the new activity? DS went through a period for a few weeks where he would just cry for no reason. It was during his 2nd week of camp earlier this summer and it was the first time he was at school for 5 days a week. Turns out he was exhausted. I moved his bedtime up 45 minutes for the rest of camp it was much better. Other than that I don't really have any suggestions. Do you think there is something going on at school that is upsetting her? A person, or situation? I wonder if you should go and sit in one day and see how the class goes, although that might just make it worse for her. Confused Kids are so darn confusing sometimes.

rachael, oh no, that's so sad. Frown Something like that happened to me as a child too. I let the dog (for the first time) walk to the store with me. He got into the road to smell something and a car hit him right in front of me. I just laid on the side of the road and cried until my mom got home.
I'm sorry DD! Those are such sad stories Crying2 hug I have the same guilt about my fur babies since my kid babies got here. We just do the best we can. But lucky (or unlucky laugh out loud) for me, my fur babies insist on making me into a sandwich at night to sleep, so they get their attention that way.

Comfort Awww... I'm so sorry to hear about losing your dog.

I actually need sippy cups - how weird is that? All the ones we had have missing parts/lids/or worn out. I've been kind of laid back about collecting things for this baby. I figure I will discover the needs as we go along... hopefully with enough time to fulfill them. *laugh*

I've never used a diaper genie - are they good? I thought about getting one this go round. We do part cloth and part disposable dipes, so it would probably be a good idea to get one.
I used a genie with my oldest and it was so disgusting we threw it away and never used it for my 2nd. We got those little baggies that are scented and have ties to throw them out right away. Changing out that genie and emptying it would cause my dh and me to go into gagging fits Roll

Nah, good on the coupon front. Any baby items you still need? Planning on using the diaper genie, sippy cups, bowls, plates, or spoons? (by playtex, but of course)

Unrelated to anything really..

Okay. Done with my sap story.

I bought milk from target a few days ago and made myself a huge glass of choco milk tonight. Took this huge gulp only to find that the milk was spoiled. OMG soooo nasty. The expi date was 8/21. I think I will save it and take it to the store I hate the most to retun it.

So sorry to hear about your doghug. We lost our collie around thanksgiving, I was ok at first and then cried for a week , I still miss him. We still have a old eng sheepie ,that is an absolute love thanks for the reminder , I think I will make sure to cuddle him daily.

Has she been home all summer. maybe the adjustment of going back after being with mommy is overwhelming her.

This is heartwrenching, it's so hard to send them off hug Maaaaaybe if you explain to her that after she has "fun" at school you will be back to pick her up ?
Try writing the hour 12 or whatever time vbs is over on a piece of paper you give to her ,and tell her when the big hand or digital or whatever is on that number you will see her again.

Other than that hope the dr. has answer for you.

I'm back. NO progress basically - still 4/5 cm and 80% effaced. *sigh* Doc wants me back Thursday to discuss induction. Blah.

Otherwise... all is well. *shrug*

Quick question about the produce coupon - if I wanted to get 4 green peppers and they are priced at .99 each, should I do separate transactions, or will it go through if I give 4 tq's, but they quantity the # of green peppers?

I hope that makes sense. I got a ton of ground beef at Kroger last week, so I was thinking of doing some stuffed peppers - figure if I keep the rice out of it, it'll be low carbish.

She could be having problems transitioning and getting into a new routine. Maybe slow down your days and spend a little extra snuggle time together. She may also be overtired like someone else suggested - make sure you guys aren't doing a lot of activities and she's getting to bed at a good time.

Does she have any other issues that may be giving her trouble - allergies, a slight cold, anything that may have worn down her system and maybe is taxing her nerves a bit?

Smilie Wave Welcome!! Enjoy... There is no off topic discussion here... it's all on topic. Especially if it has to do with poop.
