That's hard. There was a baby in the NICU when my son was in there that was about the same (24 wks and about a lb.), lived for about 10 days. This was over 9 years ago, when those babies had a much lower chance of living. Little David passed away while we were in the NICU, I felt so sorry for those parents, they were just in Athens for a little bit at the Navy school, and it was their first child. I will never forget that. I still tear up just thinking about it.

I made a T run earlier. I spent a little more than expected, and discovered in the parking lot that I was way over charged for my peppers - she rang them up under red and yellow pepper codes. Sent DD in to get it fixed and that was a royal mess. I should've gotten back almost 4.00, but they only gave her 1.XX. UGH. It's like talking to a brick wall when trying to explain to them how I was over charged and how I should get back the full amount. *sigh* Why can *we* figure it out, but they can't?

Oh well...

DD did her own transaction and they wouldn't let her use the footwear coupon on socks. For some reason, I thought that was okay but they told her that socks aren't footwear... they are apparel. Made me laugh because so many folks have been denied the c9 socks because "socks aren't apparel"... She had them take the socks off the transaction and just got her free CBA/produce/Bakery item. I was kind of proud of her.

Ank, that's insane. I've used the c9 a few times on socks and had no issues but I can't seem to find the cheap mens socks so the coupon won't beep. I haven't used the footwear coupon but I fully intend to run it into the ground over the next 48 hours.

I think it's wonderful that you are teaching your kids to save money. My kids are always on the coupon hunt and will take blinkies for me without me knowing. lol

Yeah - it wasn't a big deal overall. I told here we'll just go back and get them another time. They were cute and would've been .50 for 2 pairs. Not free, but a good deal as far as I'm concerned.

I can't find the $5.99 socks at my ST store. I am going to look at my tiny T tomorrow. No big loss either way really - I'm sure we'll see other deals before long.

As for the stuffed peppers - I did a super easy/cheating recipe. LOL.

3 lbs of ground beef
3 eggs
generous amount of salt
generous amount of pepper
(probably too many) chopped onions
and while I'd normally do ketchup or some other tomato product and spice it up with other various spices, I just opted for a can of Hunt's "meatloaf sauce" that I picked up somewhere along the way... (found it while cleaning out the cabinets... lol) I put half in the mix, and reserved the other half for the tops.

Also, if DH/DD weren't on low-carb diets, I'd throw in a couple handfuls of either some cooked rice, oatmeal, or breadcrumbs (or some combo thereof) - but they are, so I left that out. It'll be kind of dense, but I don't think they'll care.

I had lots of mix leftover (only did 4 large peppers), but I will either pick up more peppers tomorrow and bake/freeze or do a meatloaf or something. Haven't decided yet.

Mix your meat stuff, chop the top off a pepper, remove seeds, over-stuff with meat, place in baking dish, pour extra sauce over top, put the tops back on and bake at 350 til done.

Personally, I like to add a lot of extras to my meatloaf/pepper mixes - onions, garlic, spices, chopped peppers, etc... But dh is pretty plain jane when it comes to meatloaf and stuffed peppers. So... my best advice is experiment and do what the fam enjoys!

ETA#2:

You could also do a mix of sausage and beef if you want. That gives it a different flavor. (I personally don't like it, but I'm funny that way...)

We make homemade pizza all the time and I have gone to always using the little pizza crust packets that run about .50 or so reg. price around here. They are cheap and you just add the water, any brand is fine, I usually buy our grocery store's brand. Only takes one for a big thin crust pizza or two for a thicker crust OR if we are doing cheese-stuffed-crust with string cheese. Though I need to find a way to keep the cheese from bursting out of the crust. Tried freezing the string cheese and putting it in that way, thought maybe it'd take it longer to heat up....nope. Going to try poking holes in the crust the next time, we'll see.

I know I don't want my dd in public school, but I also know that I just could not homeschool. So, private school it will be. We have a couple really good ones around here, but yeah, pretty much had to decide now so we could start saving the $$$!

Ugh, I have had at least $10 worth of stuff ring up wrong, cashiers miss my q's when scanning, etc. this week. Luckily they have been nice about fixing it each time. My dd is getting rich though because every time they give me cash back I hand it to her to put it in her piggy bank.

This is heartwrenching. I'm so sorry for your sister. hug DS was also 16 weeks early, and was a twin. Our little boy lived for only a day. DD is now 22 weeks along, and I think that because the loss of a baby never really leaves you, no matter how much time passes, I find that I am becoming annoyingly overbearing with her. It's the critical stage (in my mind), and I keep harping on her. "don't do this, do that, get rest, don't go for walks, don't go swimming" I think I am going a little crazy laugh out loud But I just can't seem to help myself. It's like I'm taking in a deep breath and wont let it out until she is past that 'critical' stage. Am I nuts?

L2BAM hug hug so very sorry for your loss too.

Yeah, after a little more perusal, there are a couple other errors - but not going to be worth the hassle I think. *sigh* One of those "eat it and pay better attention next time" deals. I just figure that means I need to go print me a gazillion q's at the library and go use 'em all up. Most produce freezes, right??!! Big Grin And stocking up enough chef boyardee in case of nuclear war is always helpful, right??

And while an auto adjusting q that is "off" by a few cents is one thing, a 2.00 q that adjusts to .95 is HIGHLY annoying - especially when it's because it mis-attached. Frown

LMAO I know, I am being obsessive about it. She has been using swimming as her main source of exercise from the beginning, and she just looks at me like I'm a crazy woman laugh out loud

Ok, had to give up for the night about the shelving. I'm over half-way there, but just can't make up my mind where I want to put everything. Plus, it requires going outside to cut some more boards, and I really don't feel like doing that. Going to finish tomorrow after work.

I found something entertaining to do, if you are board. When you are in the deals thread and someone with low posts ask a stupid question, click on their name and go look at their other posts. The last one that posted, only had 20 posts, and no reps (besides the 10 you start with), almost all of her posts where "how do I do this?" "can you help me...?" , which is fine to a point, but most of it can be answered with less than a min of research on her part.

Off to bed for the night, gotta get up for work at 4am (and yes, I work at Target laugh out loud ) Truck unload starts pretty early!
