November 20th - really hoping to go earlier rather than later though just to avoid Thanksgiving laugh out loud
My ds was due on thanksgiving, I didn't want to be in the hospital for thanksgiving, since I had to cook and I didn't want to be eating hospital food for thanksgiving either, So I asked him to wait and he did, lol he was born on the 29th, 4 yrs ago. We still give him a party his bday usually ends up a few days after thanksgiving.

Ohhh... they hurt. Hurt like knives in my back and abdomen! I've also got lots of pressure and can't sit up straight without feeling weird.

Called the nurses line and left a message. They did back off to between 5-7 minutes now - but still there and painful!
Wow how your here and able to post is beyond me, I couldn't concentrate while in labor. I took lots of showers that seemed to ease the pain.

Go, Ank, Go!
MIne is 3 days after Christmas. At least I never had to go to school on my birthday, but never got the parties, either.

Wave I'm here. Just got a chance to check in. I had my nephew this morning for my sister and damn he wore me out.

Whee Ank, I'm so excited for you. Both times my water broker before labor even started. With DS I was 3 weeks early. After it broke I labored for 16 hours, pushed for 3 and ended up with a C-section. DD was a scheduled C and my water broke with her 2 days before it was scheduled.

My DD's birthday is Nov. 11. Still a holiday, which she heart, but it's Veterans Day, so not a "big" holiday. Of course, she was due in late Jan, but couldn't wait that long.

I predict between 6:30p - 7pm! Side note/weird fact: My DS was born while Jeopardy was on, and he is top of class, my DD was born while the news was on, she is also top of her class, but also very inquisitive, want's to know why everything works the way it does. (TV was on in the background as noise). Try it, it worked for me bounce

The showers/baths do help alleviate some of the pain in labor... I was laying in the tub until the water would go cold then as soon as the water would be OK again.. back in I went.. nonetheless I didn't get to the hospital until I was 9cm's. But it helps from all of the monitoring and poking which I hated...

That's interesting you mentioned that, the news was on when dd was born 10/7/01 and guess what we were doing that day, we started the air strikes against Afghanistan as a result of 9/11, not the best memory to have when your having your first child, but she is extremely intelligent and top in her class, when ds was born tv was on golf, I remember thinking of all things to distract me they turned on golf! But he's really sporty and a very big gamer at the age of 4, he also very bright, wish you guys could hear him talk the thinks he says is like he's an old man with a lot of knowledge.

I just called a customer, a gal name Mavis, maybe its a sign is she here? Baby

You know what, we need to start a charity. Some kind of "couponer's give back". I have all this stuff to donate, but I don't necessarily want to just drop it off somewhere. It's a 1000x more meaningful if you can actually give it those in need.
Quote from rachael_9667 :
Mandy - I feel the same way all the time. I just drop stuff off at the food pantry but I know it's not reaching the very most needy.
Quote from cathi4savings :
ON the first ... I agree , it is much more satisfying to give it directly
On the second... That kind of stuff drives me nuts... yes it's FREE no she's not paying for it we are , and where is the nutrition in that . UGHHH , don't get me started . I don't want to se e anyone go hungry but this kinda of stuff shake head
Since I've been poor most of my life, I've lived amongst a lot of welfare people.

2nd-3rd-4th generation welfare families are the worst. They know how to manipulate the system to the max. They waste their food stamps at the beginning of the month, then run to the food banks and church pantries the rest of the month.

For this reason, I won't donate to those organizations. I realize that many of the people who get food assistance NEED it, but so many of them do not. I want to make sure all that free stuff I work hard to get goes to the people who actually need it, so I give directly to some families who truly need the help.

Quote from LongTimeLurker7 :
If only we could give coupon seminars to low-income people, so they can strech that food stamp money farther.

Unfortunately, most people wouldn't take the time to learn or to keep it up.

My co-worker, who is always complaining about not having any money, spent $100 Wed to get a few blue highlights put in her hair (we're talking very few), then used her Food Stamps card to buy a SOBE! I told her, get 2 and I will give you the coupons to get them for free. She said, "they are free, I'm not paying for it!" and swiped her FS card! Grrrrr
The working poor are *usually* frugal with their resources. Judging by my experiences, that coworker is an exception to the rule.

The families I'm helping WANT to learn how to coupon. But they have unreliable or NO transportation. They also need internet access to get very far with it.

What I CAN do is give them the coupons that I know they will be able to use. Like for example those Target ChefBoyardee coupons to get that free. I've been giving those away to some very grateful recipients.

The welfare system manipulators that I have been around have made fun of me for using coupons, shopping sales, and boiling beans and rice to make the food dollars go further. Most of them would turn up their noses at the thought of a coupon class.

Ever hear the term, "Ghetto snob"? They are too GOOD for coupons.

But why welfare is ok and coupons aren't is beyond me. Dontknow

They'll do that when they get stronger - the contractions lengthen/strengthen but become kinda further apart. Sounds like this is the real deal mama!

I just hate the thought of her b-day being "no big deal" to people b/c of where it lands. I would *hate* to be in the hospital on Thanksgiving, too!
