Then they need to toughen up! If you can't stand the heat ....... it is just the internet ask questions/don't ask questions it is entirely up to the person --- but seriously if folks are "afraid" to participate because someone might say something that hurts their feelings I think that those folks have bigger issues than a coupon board.

The bottom line is this .... if it the comment was a joke then one would think that these folk would figure out the falseness of the RUMOR through their own life-experiences ie, Target coupons would not disappear and they would continue to use them when shopping. If on the other hand the RUMOR proved to be valid then the coupons would disappear and they would no longer be able to use them.
Whether or not the RUMOR was true wouldn't these couponers continue to use coupons until they couldn't anymore? If so it doesn't matter - either it is true or it isn't - their behaviors remain the same.

Look guys, I know many don't like to read the deals but have you not read the post from a mother so grateful that her children would have new socks and school supplies?
I know of others that are so appreciative to get CBA to feed their children. Others stretching their foodstamp dollars.
I guess I am sensitive to these people. Most here seem caring and sensitive. You in particular DEC12Girl. I have read many of your posts that are kind and thoughtful. I can tell you are very loyal.
I certainly agree people need to speak up. I am not their advocate. I just saw some comments about Target not accepting coupons, I knew it was a joke and set the record straight since no-one else did.
Otherwise I am just responding to comments.
I am sorry about my comment I guess it was a bit out of line. There is no need for anyone to go back into hiding, we are all here for the same reasons and everyones contributions are appreciated. The regulars sometimes get tired of the same mindless posts over and over, or lately with all these pms were all receiving from people we've never even seen before on the threads, we are all a little annoyed by it.
And thank you for your wishes for ds, I hope they are genuine.
I assure you I meant what I said. I have small children of my own and would hate to think someone would wish ill on my kids to spite me.

Please tell me that they started you out on 500 mg a day once a day and not something more. It WILL get better. They started me on 2000 mg a day and needless to say you know where I was living. They finally wised up and slowly transitioned me onto it.
My brother is on it as well, and his dr started him out at 500, waited 2 weeks, went to 500 twice day, waited two weeks and is now at 2000 (1000 twice a day).

And maybe the joke about not accepting coupons might have been poorly timed BUT it is not the only time in the last few years that something similar has been posted. I know of at least two times, in just the last twelve months, that someone posted they are "in the know" and their store/ friend/ sister's monkey's uncle told them T will stop accepting coupons/ stop offering TQ. I don't remember the same hullabaloo and wringing of hands that we have going on now.

No, my Dh gets boxes of those little samples tubes and we can't give them away fast enough! We usually get rid of 4-5 boxes for Halloween and then have to pawn boxes off on our family. My Dh doesn't have a "traditional" practice so he can't give these out like the other Dents do.

I hate when I get so nauseous that I puke- but I can't tell which one is causing that. All I've kept down today is a banana and some iced tea (finally made a pitcher that was good!). Sigh.
You can get pre-k books and stuff like that at T and other places. They usually have ones that teach writing letters.
As for letters, and learning in general, I would HIGHLY recommend getting the Leap Frog Letter Factory. My two youngest kids watched this over and over, and by 2, knew all their letters and what sounds they made. I never learned to read by phonics, so it was great that my kids were learning to read that way. There are other videos that expand the learning, but the Letter Factory is the best one to start with. Both kids are avid readers now, and my 7-year-old was reading at a 4th grade level in 1st grade. I attribute a lot of that to those videos (well, that and spending summer before last in our sign shop we had with no tv, video games, ect.. only the Public Library close by. She read a 100 books that June-July, just so she could go to the Magic Show they had at the end of summer.)
As for the cupcakes, I attached a pic of them
The cones are a little chewy, but not too bad. Maybe because of the way I make them. I take a "foil sheet" (sheets of aluminum foil, I get a box of 500 at the warehouse club, and it lasts me about 6 years), put the cone in the middle of it, then smush it down into the cupcake pan, so the cone stands upright, and doesn't fall over easily. I cleaned out spilled, burnt cake batter out of my oven too many times before learning that little trick.
Even with making home-made buttercream icing and piping it on, the biggest PIA is making the holder and transporting. The holders are just boxes, with little holes cut out with a razor knife, then $1 store foil tissue paper (in the gift wrap section), so it looks nice. I try to keep one (or two) around, but sometimes the kid's teachers throw them away.
In case anyone is going to ask, the "cherry" on top is a cherry sour ball. I found them at Kroger in the cheap candy. Target doesn't have them.
