What's the worst birthday gift you've ever received?

My grandma gave me a green sweater with birds ironed onto it. Around the birds was glitter.

I was afraid to wear it for fear I'd get shot.
A sweatshirt with a ridiculously huge print of Jesus on it and 'Jesus loves me!' done in multicolor puffy paint.

I blame that shirt for my atheism.

That is an awesome tip! I know he is ready for this. Last week, the power went off during the middle of the night. He woke up crying and I thought it was because candles were lit and it was dark.(no nightlight). He finally stopped crying long enough to say "go pee". I took his pj's off while we were at his bed, so it would be easier for him, since the house was dark. As soon as the pull up came down and as I was turning him around to direct him to the bathroom, I saw that he was spraying the whole room as I spun him around. He had to go soooooo bad, but would not go in his pull up. He was back asleep before I could get him fully dressed again. Poor baby. Poor Daddy for having to clean up pee in the dark! Smilie
CrylolRofl2 OK it's not POOP but close enough for me. (Anything to lighten up this thread a bit) I've been avoiding the Deals thread like the plague all week and would hate to see it spill over here.

My DS is going to be seven soon and we still have issues with "pee". He hasn't wet the bed in forever, BUT he doesn't seem to have a clue where he is when he gets up. Just 2 days ago he went pee on the toilet lid because he didn't notice the lid was down in the middle of the night. Nearly every week he pees on either my DH or my own feet while trying to help direct him properly.

The "scariest" for me was the time I heard him moving around upstairs and I went to go up and help and found him at the top of the stairs pulling his undies down, If I'd shouted a second later It would have been raining down on me.

WORST B-Day Present.
- We have this crazy old Great Aunt that has seemed old and senile since I was in middle school over 25 years ago. So each year is amusing. I remember the year she gave my sister a bottle of Worcestershire Sauce because she "knew" how much my Sis liked it. But the winner probably has to go to the year she gave us matching sun dresses that were black with giant yellow & white daisys printed on them the size of dinner plates.

Just went in and checked on the baby and there was poop everywhere. All over the crib, all down her leg, caked in her pjs. She was sound asleep and I had to wake her to giver her a bath in the sink and strip the bed. Of course I thought of you guys. Good night.

My brother did that until he was half grown. He eventually grew out of it. It's a form of sleepwalking.

The most embarrassing incident was the time we had company (an adult couple) staying overnight. They were awakened in the middle of the night by my brother coming in the guest bedroom to pee in the wastebasket.

I don't think anyone got any sleep the rest of that night after all the commotion that ensued.

LMAO

Shame on you. Don't you know my son is sleeping in the computer room at the moment after some bad dreams. I swear if he wakes up my laughing it will be all your fault. How dare you. Don't you have a heart for others on this thread and what they might be going through in their own personal lives. Wink

But, yes I believe you are right about the sleep walking. He is definitely a sleep walker just like I was growing up. The worst was when he stood up in bed and walked right out of it. Ended up with 7 stitches along his eyebrow over that one. But the worst of it was my husband being too afraid to let him sleep in his own room for fear he might do worse like fall down the stairs. It took nearly 6 months to convince my DH to get him off the camp bed in our room and back into his own bedroom.

My oldest nephew used to sleep walk. Two true stories:
He fell down an entire flight of stairs sleepwalking (broke his right arm in 3 places) and dislocated his OTHER shoulder-arm socket. Basically couldn't do anything with his arms for many weeks.

Several years ago SIL lived one and a half blocks from a major highway with no houses behind her, and had a huge pond to the right of their house. Brother was woken up in his bed by the dog next door licking his face. The front door was open (which allowed the dog in), and nephew was no where to be found. They found him about 100 ft from the road (he had walked around the pond) and he was still asleep, walking towards the road.

We thank God for the dog! They put a bar lock on the outside doors at the top, so he couldn't open the door and get out anymore.

I assure you I meant what I said. I have small children of my own and would hate to think someone would wish ill on my kids to spite me. Mad

Good luck and God bless!heart
Look I am not a spiteful person, I never wish harm to anyone no matter what they have done to me, I am a firm believer in karma and what goes around comes around.

Thanks he's just taking generic tylenol and motrin, he has a steroid to take specially for his fevers but I try not to give them to him unless absolutely necessary.

Ltl7 I totally need to try making those cupcakes, wasn't able to look at the pics yet but they sound awesome!

And someone else mentioned frankenstein cupcakes? Would luv to hear the recipe for those. They sound fun for halloween!

My side of the family has a whole long list of those stories going back several generations. Including a great-great grandfather found plowing his wife's flower garden, horses hitched and all but in his long-johns fully asleep. Wife supposedly never forgave him for the damage he did to her flowers.

We have a house alarm that will chime any time a door is opened even when it is turned off. Had thought at the time of the stitches we should put some bells on his bedroom door to wake us when he gets up in the night but had lulled ourselves into believing he was relatively safe. After all none of my relatives or I ever got seriously hurt sleepwalking. But your story about your nephew is scary. May have to reconsider those bells again.

I'm a pretty laid back parent, but stairs are my one big time worry for some reason.

Good night all.

Oh, and I may post this over in deals just to try to work on my sorry @S# rating but I spotted some $1/1 peelies for pepsi 12-packs at a local grocery (Price Chopper) Only liberated less than 1 in 10. But may pair nicely with the $2.50/12-pack sale over at T this week. Haven't quite decided yet. I'm running low on the pop my dh likes and he does like pepsi max and diet dr. pepper (also on sale and peelies to match) but $1.50 is still a bit pricey for what I like.
