I hope Myluvjustice's DD has better luck than my kids. Both of my youngest ones have been tested for SCOPE (as it's known here), my DS twice, at their teacher's recommendations, and I have always gotten the rejection letter. My DS, I can understand, he is very smart and ahead of his class, but he is also lazy when it comes to school work, Part of it, I think is boredom, but I can see where that may be a factor.

My DD, I don't understand. Neither do any of her teachers. She just started 2nd grade (she was tested the end of last school year, and they sent me the rejection letter a few days after school was closed for the summer). She is reading at a 5th grade level, doing 4th grade math, and loves school and doing school work. She does all of her weeks homework as soon as she gets home from school on Monday (on her own). She is also a very good girl and school, and is always getting "paw prints" and getting her name in the "caught doing good" jar. She got 1 wrong total out of all of her CRCT testing last year.

I called last week to have a "conference" with the SCOPE teacher about DD's test results, as the rejection letter instructed. The teacher called me back 2 days later, explained that she had to pass 3 of the 4 tests they gave her last year and that my DD had probably only passed 1 or 2 (but didn't know for sure). Confused I felt like saying, "Really Sherlock! I could have figured that out on my own!" After giving me no real information, she asked for my DDs CRCT scores, and hung up. I don't know if she is checking into it (she said several times during the conversation that she would have to pull the file in the office, but never said she would actually do it) or not.

Sorry, it's really a point of frustration with me. For now, I just rely on her teachers, who have been giving her "SCOPE" work since Kindergarten anyways, and the extra work she likes to do at home. Good thing is, she's very motivated to show her brother up, and likes to do his 4th grade homework too.

OMG! That's nuts! Even if the cashier was ringing up 1 bottle of Sobe every 30 seconds, that means it took 2 1/2 hours straight to ring up that one customer's 300 bottles. EEK!
I wonder if she made that up...not unheard of 2 1/2 hrs is just too longScratchhead

Quote from setsail :
I vaguely remember that, and I didn't try too hard to print. I have a box of Sobe anyway. laugh out loud

To help pay for our trip, we've held some stockpile sales. How did I miss until yesterday that Target sells garage sale signs??
Evillaugh Yes they are even gonna make a buck from your enterprising waysLMAO

What kind of tests are the 4 they use? The only actual test we use to qualify kids is an IQ test (currently we're using the WISC IV). We test any kid that is referred by a teacher or a parent.

I'm PMing you in a minute...

Jilly was it you asking about coffee? I've still got some from the last good q. Hopefully as the holidays get closer we'll get some more stovetop q's. There's a 1.50 Starbucks q in one of the Publix magazines. Maybe they'll have a SB gc deal soon too.

I haven't bought one Sobe this summer. I had so many last year I don't ever want to see another vomit

All eyes on Earl tonight. Pray he turns and misses the coast altogether.

Earl, boy that's fast didn't think he was expected this soon, like the coast hasn't had enough this year praying PrayPrayfor you

300 Sobe, eh? If I never see another Sobe in my life, I will be eternally grateful. I started selling chilled ones at garage sales for $0.25, just to get them the hell out of my pantry.

We finally had a showing today on our house, so fingers are crossed! Pray Too bad our dimwit agent called at 9:15 for a 10am showing. I work at home, so this was not appreciated.

Believe it or not, I was able to print minimum 30 of those Sobe and haven't used ONE. They were tossed earlier this afternoon.

I purposely responded to the poster that wanted a condensed version of all the info, via private group, by telling him/her that the deals were in the Wiki and there were the daily recaps.

Was thanked, but told I didn't understand the question.

I read the question as a request of the OP to not to have to bother with reading the posts, etc. such as the rest of us do. It came across to me as an entitlement issue, which does not set well with me. I guess there's supposed to be a CliffsNotes version for special folks. [Do they still publish CliffsNotes?]

That post on top of the other idiotic posts just set me off.

Wave Hey to you.. I skimmed the last 24 hours of posts cause I have been in class for the last 10 hours and have a headacheFrown But, I recall you mentioning something about little Mavis losing weight and hind milk... Are you letting her nurse on one side until she empties? I know they always say nurse from both sides, but with 2 of the 3 that I BF, that did not work for me.. We only nursed one side each feeding and just alternated with the next feeding. If you take them off too early they don't get the good milkSmilie
Hope you are taking care of yourself and feeling okay.

Jamie- sorry to hear you made another ER trip. I hope the dramamine works for you. It makes me so drowsy when I take it that I can't function. I hope they do enough tests to get to the bottom of whatever is causing it.hug

They tested my DS with the WISC IV and after he passed that with a very high score, they did a one on one interview with him as well, and wanted input from teachers etc. before admitting him to the G.E.O. program. He's going into his second year now and loves it!

Hmm... I will try that. I could always pump the other side if needed.

I think I have overdone it a little bit. I am a bit more emotional than I thought I'd be - and with a sick toddler, demanding baby, and crazy adjusting hormones - I should probably be more laid back than what I was today/yesterday. It's so hard to make myself do nothing though. Frown

He's aimed right at us now, but he's going to turn northward on Thursday (thank God. I just bought my house, I don't want it to blow away) They are evacuating parts of the coast of NC tomorrow though and are expecting very bad weather up to Mass, so any of you along the coast from NC to Mass, take care!
