Ugh! How did I not know that a passport is now required for Canada? I am supposed to be going to Toronto in a couple of weeks and now I'm not sure I can! Bash

Has anyone done an expedited passport renewal via mail? Do you remember how long it took? Mine expired last year Frown
If you are traveling by land (ie car) you can you a Michigan enhanced driver's license. Its $45 take your SS card and birth certificate down to the Secretary of State along with your regular Michigan DL. I've heard it comes as fast as a renewal of your DL which in my area is a 7 to 10 days.

thanks! Unfortunately, I do not have a Mich. DL. Never wanted to give up my FL DL! Tongue

Also, I am supposed to be flying which I now see makes a difference. You can get a passport renewal card for $30 but it can only be used for land travel to CA & MX. A whopping $110 for a passport book renewal OMG I guess I just have to chance it. Frown

Teri - I would love to see pics of what you have done - I love seeing the improvements/landscaping whatever that other folks do .. it gives me ideas that SOMEDAY I will actually carry out! LOL Hope things are going well with your DS & DD ... you DD must be getting close right?
.
Dia hug hope you are doing some better with your thryoid and with school for ds.

I'll post some pics when I'm done, I haven't put pictures, curtains etc up yet. I just painted one wall so it wasn't a big remodel laugh out loud I'm planning to put in some French doors at some point in time but until then I have to live with the sliding door. I finally broke down and bought vertical blinds vomit but I thought the neighbors were probably getting tired of seeing me walk around the house in my jammies.

DD has three months to go. Poor thing is still throwing up all the time. It did get some better in the 2nd trimester but now that she's at the third its back in full force. She is pale and sick and tired all the time. We were supposed to get to Target today to do some baby shopping but she was throwing up so bad I went without her. It was nice though, I haven't been in a couple of weeks and I wasn't rushed and the store wasn't too crowded.

I picked up some toothbrush refills before the TQ expired (those sonicare replacements are pricey!). I got a cat at the register for another 5.00 off refills so that will pair nicely with mfg q's for more. Picked up more diapers for dd, c9 socks, a merona top for 3.49, and stuff stuff stuff. I'm loving some of the tq's Grin Also got another 20.00 RX TQ for new or transferred rx's.

Having the most beautiful weather, high 80's and lower humidity than we've had in months. I'm beginning to think I have survived the hottest summer in history EEK!

Why does Claires need to have nailpaints at the checkout counter..And why do teenage girls have to decide while paying " OMG, look they have purple and green" Annoyed All I was standing in the line was for 1 pack of hair rubberbands...

And they really need to expand that shop...For the amount of people that are clustered inside that place, the shop is tiny...

Teehee Claires gives me claustrophobia.

Here's a pic of the den/breakfast nook (they are kinda one room, like an L shape)

It's kind of dark but you can get the idea. I really don't know what to do with that sliding door, I really don't like verticals. I priced hurricane shutters but EEK! I could put in two french doors for the price of one set of HS. Still not totally done, I have to finish trimming and put molding on the white beam thingy between the two rooms. Anyone have any creative ideas for the sliding door?

Oh, and don't look out of the door onto the porch because it's a wreck LMAO

The same color I used in the breakfast nook and the powder room, Valspar Cinnamon Sugar. I love the color but I think I better stop using it now LMAO. Actually all three rooms are right together/by each other so it works. Here is a finished pic of the powder room (don't remember if I posted it) and another view of the den. The other walls in there are a butter color. I still haven't hung many pics yet. I'm thinking a corner cabinet where the two wall colors meet. I found this one and I like it. :

I have no idea what keeps triggering the RX cat. I've got 2 now, on my last two trips. The only thing I bought each time the same was diapers but I don't think that would trigger it Dontknow

Only if you let me use Cinnamon Sugar LMAO I think I have DD and DSIL talked into using it in their nursery instead of pink. It's gonna be a biotch to cover all this brown when I decide to go lighter Roll

love your color choices and how you've decorated!

have you considered panel track? when it first came out a few yrs ago it was really expensive but it's really come down in price. here are some examples. thought maybe the bamboo or the woven wood would coordinate w/ your color scheme and the area rug. see here-
http://www4.jcpenney.com/jcp/XGN....SO=0&Nao=0

the kennedy bamboo grommet top panels would also look nice and are highly rated.

a friend of mine also put a curtain rod across the top of her slider and has panels hanging on either side of the door. iirc, she sometimes closes them at nite, maybe in the winter to keep the cold out. it gives it a nice finished look.

you can also get doors that have blinds inside the doors if you like very minimal look. they tilt and go up and down. another friend of mine has that and it's very cool.

eta: here are the more expensive ones-

We had a similar color scheme in our last house. For the "door/window" we treated it like a regular window with long flowing gauze like curtains then placed a long antique bronze colored pole with some fancy ends on it and just wrapped the pole loosely with some sage colored silky fabric. Everyone always commented on how much they liked it and it had been so inexpensive.

Slow, I love the bamboo ones at JCP, and they are on sale too woot Thanks for the link hug I think those would be nice there.

Ghost, I had some 'guazy' type curtains up there but at night you could see through them which is why I bought the cheap (and I do mean cheap laugh out loud) verticals until I figure out what to do with the door. I use the porch alot and the curtains were getting in the way and forever getting caught in the door.

Teri, I like your colors...My house is completely WHITE everywhere.. I do not have any furniture yet. Did you have your furniture first or did you paint your walls first. I was thinking I wanted to get my furniture first. My house looks very sterile right now...

Has anyone painted their kitchen countertops before? My house was bought through a program. It was a forclosure, (someone's lost, my gain) so they redid EVERYTHING, and they put this ugly seafoam green countertops in the kitchen.. It must be what was donated to them or must have been the cheapest at the warehouse. Its also in the bathrooms...I cant complain though. This 4br/2ba is cheaper than my 1bdrm apt.. so I will live with the ugly.. lol
