I looked online at the special paint you can use, but I wanted to ask someone personally who has done it. I read the reviews.. Its seems pretty easy. They have some that make your counters look like granite... Im into fancy without the fancy price...I dont mind faux.. Its an open floor plan, so that seafoam would have to be incorporated throughout the livingroom and dining room.. I would rather spend 70 bucks on a can of paint...
Your best bet is to higher A refinisher, they can do a stone flec finish in variety of colors and then will also do a clear coat on top for wear and tear, all our counters and vanities, even our bath tubs have been refinished, thats DH trade. most refinishing companies will charge per sq foot on the countertops, so depending on area and availablity it could be pricey. those do it your self can of paints are typically rolled on versus refinishing which is sprayed on and you can get a beautiful glossey finish, versus when you roll it on it can look texturd.

Our local Habitat store is EEK! I've been there once or twice, and it's not a great place to go with small kids. Really bad neighborhood.

I painted my countertops (with heavy duty epoxy spray paint, not the resurface stuff). This was 6 years ago. Our countertops were baby pink (we have black appliances and maroon walls) vomit

I painted the master bath one first, to test. It had no problems and held up. So I painted the kitchen. Bad idea! Now they are black and pink (scratches). Good thing we hate people, so no one ever comes in the house. Big Grin I might try a resurface kit in a few months. I want new countertops, but my DH keeps saying we are going to move to a better school district (he's been saying this for 5 years), so we can't put any money into the house Frown

OMG Today was SO busy at work! Everyone must be shopping on Labor Day. I usually get off about 10:30am on Mondays, and I didn't get off work till almost 3p. I had 5 pallets of Halloween costumes and halloween candy. But, next time you are at T, and if they have the Pet costumes (the ones back in the Seasonal section, not the pet section ones), check them out! Some of them, I think my dog would kill me in my sleep if I put them on him! Although, I do like the Mounted Moose Head one.
Ok, this habitat store was in a former house/warehouse and it is farking crazy! a room here a room there and a space here and step up step down.....danger danger. The neighborhood isnt too bad.

I love the pet costume jammies by the petfood...I saw a sign that said buy 2 treats and save $2 off the pet jammies. They only went up to XL and my doggies is at least a XXXL but I'm thinking of getting a XS doggie just to dress up Teehee

My dog's costume is a headband that has a half bone sticking out on each side. It's for humans, so that when you wear it you look like you have a bone sticking through your head. I guess that would make you a bonehead LMAO anyway, I put it on my dog's back so the bone looks like it's sticking through her sides.

Okay, this was before my HOA had a fit and I had to pack up and move things around. At this point I have about 20 tubs worth of stuff in my garage (mostly Glad, Cesar, Fancy Feast, Colgate, Crest, H&S, Pantene, BIC razors and pens..etc etc) The other 40 tubs (mostly what you see here) is in another town being safely watched for me.
I finally got on a computer to see you & LTL pics, Im impressed worship thats what I want to do in our garage but we havent been able to clean it out yet, its still too hot.

We need to redo countertops too! We have a VERY small kitchen so whatever we do cannot possibly be that expensive although the biggest chunk of countertop is not as deep as 'normal' countertop so if we got all new it would have to be custom, so I am thinking something like granite transformations too that just goes on top of the existing. My aunt had an estimate done in her house recently; I am waiting to see what they go with and how it turns out.

Our existing countertops are laminate with a wood-grain, wood-colored look....and our cabinets are about the same color of oak. It all looks like one big blah color, no contrast. I dunno what the previous owners were thinkinglaugh out loud It's functional though, that's what matters at this point Big Grin

You guys are giving me lots of good ideas though. We have a lot of work to do on our house: rest of the replacement windows, new roof, new carpet, and just some general make-it-look-nicer upgrades!

So enjoyed our Labor Day!! Went to Roosevelt Island with the kids and hiked a teeny bit, then went to an awesome playground (Clemyjontry, if you want to google it). It was designed so that ANY child can play on it, whether they are fit and healthy or wheel-chair-bound or autistic or whatever. It is a very fun place for the kids AND it has a carousel. I thought it would be insane there today, but it actually wasn't too bad.

Went to a ginormous thrift store that is 50% off on holiday Mondays. Got some more fall clothes for my middle child. Sheer craziness there.

Back to the real world tomorrow!! I am determined to get more active, so I think as soon as I drop mister man off at school, I'm going to take me and the girls to a running track near our house and do a couple laps. Get it out of the way first thing in the morning. Then go about my business.

For those who do Wags, looks like there are some pretty decent deals this week. Is there any easy transaction I could do, to ease back into it? I have no RRs, if that helps.

Looks like I need to get my butt to T this week, too. Gotta try out some coupons!!

And Dazzled, you were almost right on the clothes. Except only one pair of shoes was from Target. Big Grin
