I need a new toaster. We even tossed the one we had and bought an old toaster at a yard sale hoping it might be better. It's a little better but not much.

I want one that actually toasts the damn bread in less than an hour. If Bunn made a toaster -- that was half as good as their coffee pots, I would so be in line to buy one.

I need to get off this couch and do something constructive. I have been watching some 9/11 stuff and it is so sad. I know we should always remember seeing people jumping to their deaths just makes me bawl! So towel shopping it is. Any one style in particular?

So, basically, I have four gifts to buy and since two are for parents -- 75 & 80.... BORING. My kids aren't even any fun to shop for anymore.

My son is attempting to join the military, so it's not like he needs more crap to store if he gets in. (He had a stroke as a child, so he's jumping thought medical hoops). Daughter still lives at home, so what the hell does she need? She works, she saves like crazy, so she can afford what she wants. In fact she just bought (cash) a little red convertible.

Ok, so enough of my little "I don't get to shop" pity party. On the upside, I don't have to go out in public and deal with people.
I would HATE that! Christmas shopping is my favorite thing to do. Maybe you could find a low-income family with kids that you could help supplement their Christmas. Years and years ago, I was on the receiving end of that, it really made my Christmas. It's more satisfying than just putting toys in a huge box at the store for Toys 4 Tots.

Guess I need to get moving. Game starts at noon, at least it's @SC, so we don't have thousands of idiots (besides the normal college ones) in town.

Nope, just Target Home brand. I got the Color Bright ones, because it's what will match my kid's bathroom.

Cool, Ank! I guess you better get to looking around and decide how to rearrange to find it a spot. Don't you go moving any furniture either -- you just a had a baby, ya know!

I need to get off my butt and do something today too. The little garage needs a little tidying before winter. It's a one car attached where I park the van, keep some overstock stuff, plus the pool crap. I think the new snow blower (that I have yet to order) will go out there too. We also have a 4 car detached garage for the other vehicles, work bench, and more stuff. It's clean, all but a little organizing on and around the shop bench -- and that's hubby's crap to deal with. He has spent a little time out there recently really weeding out and cleaning it up. I'm a little scared.

Then, I suppose I could also shut the pool down. That's always depressing. It just really signals the end of summer. Plus, it just isn't pretty with the winter cover on. I go from pretty blue water to a 30' black winter cover. Kind of silly to keep it running though. Not warm enough to swim anymore. Grass could stand to be mowed too.

Oh, yeah, and the living room needs vacuumed and the bathroom needs cleaned. I noticed the sink was particularly nasty this morning.

I got the green striped ones beause my kids bathroom is in that Monster theme. Thought they were cute. Today I think I am going to get something else from the rainbow.

9/11 brings me to tears also.

I got the "Thomas O'Brien" towel, $9.99. I haven't washed it yet but it seems very nice.

You could maybe do toys for tots, an angel tree thing, or see if a church has a local family in need of some fun surprises.

I don't know how it worked, because I also was warned for another account I made, but didn't even verify with email. We have a wireless network, so all computers have the same IP address. I even used different emails. Dontknow

I did admit to being twatwaffle, didn't realize it was against the rules, but that's my fault, since I haven't read them in a few years. But the other one, I never activated or anything, and was still warned about it.
I did not MA the post of course.. I actually thought the new screen names were funnyBig Grin But, I was gonna say that I am pretty sure whenever it was alerted by some jerk that the mods just do an IP search, and they find it. Doesn't matter about email addresses. I only know because once quite awhile back, someone was posting and harrassing in a thread I was in and the tone of the posts was pretty much the same as a previous permabanned person. Someone MA the post before I could get to it and asked for an IP check. The new account was the confirmed as the same and they were banned as well.

I've been red for a few weeks. I told that person in the deal thread to shut up. So I got a warning.

I wrote Serra and asked her/him what to do...my DH would like to join SD someday soon and how do we handle this. Will post when I get a reply.

.
I have read that if you ask ahead of time and explain about another family member joining, then they allow 2 accounts, without deleting.

There are time I am completely over-joyed...

Then there are times I'm sure my "na-nis" will fall off and I could cry as much as this baby did last night and I think "what am I doing???!!!"

But mostly, I am completely over-joyed.

Mavis seems a bit less congested today. I've gotten pretty good at booger suctioning though. I'm ready for winter!

Me too - I did get in on the Kmart gift card - otherwise, I keep banking the points.

I went to Kroger this morning - nothing uber exciting. It is pouring rain here.
Hey Ank. so glad Mavis is feeling better.. Sorry about your tatasWink Have you given her a pacifier, or are you against that. I know some people are. I had the OB nurses in an uproar when I wanted one with my DD.. I know it can cause breast babies to get confused at first possibly..but I always used them. My kids just liked to suck, and I couldn't handle the constant nursing.. I could give mine the paci and swaddle them very tightly and get a few moments of peace. Of course, I miss those days so much.. I LOVE little babiesnod

Getting ready to head to Target as soon as the baby finishes eating.

Towels, mr. clean, tide, produce, bakery, c9, cereal, juice, and diapers are on the list.
I was too chicken to get towels last time.

I'm not totally against it - especially since she has no problems nursing at all! I've tried a Nuk (I think that's what it is), but she just kind of takes it. (my other 2 never would take one, so I gave up after while) I am thinking of getting a different one to try - different shaped - and see if she likes it better. I swear, it feels like my you-know-what's have been run across a grater sometimes! One side is worse than the other. Her latch is fine now, but I do think she wasn't latching well the first week and it irritated my skin. It's like they don't get a break long enough to heal - or when they do get a longer break, I get so engorged and that seems to make it worse! Pumping helps, and I'm actually considering pumping all the time and just giving it to her in a bottle - at least pumping on the one side until it heals up better. The good news is that she seems to be getting better at finding her fingers and sucking on them sometimes. She prefers her pointer or her ring finger it seems - kind of funny.

It's amazing how much she's changed and grown already. She can turn her head to look for me or her daddy when she hears our voices, and I swear there are times she's trying to mimic our faces or mouth movements. She watches EVERYTHING so intently (when she's awake!) It's amazing.

Ank, I've done the Soothie brand since I had my son in NICU. All of my babies took a pacifier but all of them weaned themselves off before 3 months of age. The only one that didn't was River and she decided a few months ago she didn't want it anymore and that was that!

We used to have one of those chrome retro looking toasters, loved it until DS broke it. Frown I actually need a new one too so let me know if you come up with anything. Tired of the red toaster, you have to flip the bread because when it toasts about a half inch of it sticks out of the top of the toaster. grrrrrrr

I have a 17 yr old DD, would you be interested? Big Grin Because as she posted on her fb page 'nothing she does pleases me'. Silly me, I have some nerve getting mad at her for sneaking & letting her friend, who is also 17 & not covered on our insurance, drive one of our cars. Whee

Yay! Do you play? I really, really want to take lessons & learn. That's on my bucket list. Smilie Hard to find anyone in this one grocery store town though.
