I haven't noticed anything quite like that. Dontknow

i always find that DH and i are checking out the same women when we're out Evil
I'm probably VERY old fashioned in this regard and probably a bit dated/less progressive in this respect than I am in others.

Plus I always found when I am with someone my focus tends to reside much more on them than on others around me. Now, if we were watching a film or something like that together and there were images of another woman or something like similar that we were both exposed to simultaneously, I might remark on it, or expect her to, or some combination of the two.

But I wouldn't actively have my focus elsewhere! Even when I was married for many years and out with my wife, I didn't do that - not because I couldn't, but because my focus was on her!

It's probably old fashioned, I know!

It's traditionally considered disrespectful to your date/girlfriend.

It comes from the whole "if you're happy with what you have, you don't need to be window shopping" frame of mind.

Obviously this is rather presumptuous about your relationship, and I'm sure you and BQ regularly discuss what is/isn't okay with one another, I'm just explaining Ref's comment.
What Mal said! Including the presumptive part!!!

But it's not an uncommon thing today for me to see younger men doing that, and while there isn't a right/wrong behavior, it's just different for me I suppose?

Oh good grief Protsy!!!

Do I have to stop poking fun in my very small ways at you now, altogether?

I would dislike having to do that, especially since it's a bit rich coming from someone who dishes out "your mom" jokes about as often as breathing!! LMAO But if it's necessary, I suppose I will. Even though I would find that sad. Frown

Also, if you'd like to know my opinion of you, and what I think of you, you're welcome to ask me directly! Or ask BQ!! I tend to speak good things about you to her! Am I wrong? I don't think I am, but I suppose it's possible.

After all I'm just some random dumb person on the internets, right? Shouldn't matter what I think in the end if what you said there is true!!! Wink5

I try to poke fun of everyone equally, but usually only restrict it to ones I know won't be offended!!!

If Prot is truy offended, I don't want to do that to him anymore. That would be mean, and I'm not usually an overly mean person!!! So if that really is the case, I can just adjust what I post about him, BQ, or anyone else that might feel that way.

I just wish I could have found out about it another way than this?

Yeah, I feel the same was as you, Ref.

To me, it's disrespectful. If my husband were gawking at other women while he was out with me, I'd have a problem with it. It's like "you have a wonderful, beautiful woman right in front of you - what reason could you possibly have for wanting to look at other ones?"

And I wouldn't do the same thing to him. I seriously doubt he'd like me checking out other guys while we out together.

It's just a "respect" kind of issue. At least for us old school people. Smilie

I'm 31 and I think it's pretty disrespectful to be checking out people of the opposite sex when you have one with you. Dontknow

I'm pretty old fashioned myself too.

yeah i acknowledge that it's technically disrespectful to "check out" other girls when you already have a girl.

But sometimes...I can't farking help it.

Like if a gorgeous girl walks by and I'm not with wifey....I will usually turn to check out dat ass. However, if I'm physically with wifey and I see a gorgeous girl, I'll inwardly take note but will not crane my neck nor will I ogle.

However, I've found a very useful way around this.

Example:
The other night I was at costco with wifey when i see this girl with huge breasseseseses. I am trying not to ogle. Then I turn to my wife and say..."whaddya think? Real or fake? I think fake...blech"

We both proceeded to ogle hardcore and my wife goes..."definitely fake"

I said..."hmm, I'm not so sure....hold on." (I continued ogling for a few more seconds then finally said, "yeah...SOOO fake." laugh out loud

When I see a nice booty I'll turn to wifey and say...."damn...that booty is waaaayyy too huge, right?"
She'll turn to stare and be like..."no..its not too bad."

So outwardly I'll say..."IDK...too big for me." But inwardly I'm thinking...."gat damn that's a nice ass."

heh heh.

He didn't say he was going out of his way to gawk at these people, but I didn't realize that a committed relationship means that you no longer notice attractive people...

Ref is not a good example of the male species because most of us only live to be like 70 or 80, he has to be going on like 120-130 by now...

Exactly... and BQ herself has said the same thing. In fact, if you recall, she was mad that I went to a strip club not because of being in a strip club, but because she didn't get to go herself.

BQ looked great in her corset, but when there's literally a full house of a theater brimming w/scantily clad college girls... sorry, I'm going to notice at LEAST one Stick Out Tongue. And yes, FTR, there was a half naked chick on stage acting out the part of slut, so that particular person was one of the main points of focus.

Also RD, BQ and I tend to do the same thing that you and your wife do.

Yes, and back in Ref's active years, God hadn't even created woman yet, so it was kinda hard for him to oogle at all!

EDIT: CRAP!!! Sorry frog.. looks like I broke the quote embargo. Twice in one post, no less Frown.

I don't expect other people to take part in the embargo. It's more of a lark than anything.

"more of a lark than anything"?

What does that even mean? Must be a 30's expression... 1830's.
